5 years later and you're still helping. Thank you!!!
I'm old and I've never seen RAM slots where both sides didn't clip out. I googled the motherboard and it led me to this video. I wanted to say thank you; it was a very informative video and super timely for me.
"one corner, then the other corner" best advice, thanks!

Carey I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for helping me with my first PC six years ago. I’ve helped my brothers and friends since!
Thank you so much! I was trying to put in the memory but it was impossible! I literally read everything online but none of them worked...then i found your guide and it helped me, i was able to put it in instantly, thank you so much!

Same. then finally I end up with breaking one of my slot. And I'm using 1 ram 😶
Thanks a lot! My PC was running, but I was sceptical it was really seated properly because my RAM didn't "click" or "snap" like other setups I've had. Tried what was explained in the video and both sides had a very satisfying click.
Thank so much. Been searching for 30 minutes now on how to install my ram properly. I knew how to align it, but the sticks itself would not go all the way in while applying force, but as soon as I verified my alignment and just did one thumb press to top and one thumb press to the bottom , it went right in. Thank you again sir
Thanks for the video! I watched others and couldnt figure it out but the whole “one corner then the other” part made it so easy to understand
I was trying to fix my pc for 7 hours straight. This video helped me so much its actually unbelievable
Had to watch three vids to get that one corner at a time advice! Thank you so much
3 years old AND STILL relevant. I just installed 32gb in my Asus g10dk. Thank you.
Carey is worth his weight in gold! I would have never thought about removing the plastic over the logo or to push down the ram module one side at a time. There's a reason Carey's quick tips are so popular on KZread.
Thank you Carey ! 🙂 I was looking for a proper way to install the RAM correctly on my ASUS : just what I was looking for ! Have a nice day, and take care.
You had my had EXACT memory and Motherboard I cannot thank you enough This by no exaggeration saved me

question if I'm upgrading ram from 16 to 32 to i need to change anything in bois or just install them?
@brokentilebench
4 жыл бұрын
Hector Chacon just install them. Just make sure your motherboard will work with it.
Some of these newer cpu cooling heat sinks are monstrous in size and they block the ram slots and thus in some cases you need a low height ram chip. I wish motherboard manufacturers would be more conscious of the type of components being used on their boards and hence design the placement a little better
Thank you so much, my issue was fixed immediately from this short video.
This guy is a savior, almost had to send back my ram after my pc wasn’t turning on with the installed ram, figured out it was just me slamming down both sides instead of one at a time.
Love the tip that we have to click one side then the other side. I didnt know that. This will be my first time installing new rams as i nvr installed before. Thank you so much.
Thanks muchly - used this as reference before installing my new Corsair sets and found it really useful! Simple, straightforward and informative - A+
Thanks, especially for the tip of the little plastic-strip. Never thought of this! Just bought some upgrade extra RAM for the PC.
Thank you so much I had an issue getting my display to run and it took me this video to realize I had the ram in the wrong slots
Thanks for the visual. It took an unexpected (although small) amount of force for them to click in, which I would not have thought is correct without this video.
Thank you for explaining about the bottom ram tabs not opening! I thought this was the way it was supposed to be, but I wasn't sure. Now I know they're not supposed to open.
Thank you man you don't know how happy I came to see in this video I didn't know what to do you showed me how hard to push down the Ram
That thumb trick is a miracle! You're a life saver
Thank you sir... I've watched other videos on this and yours is the most informative and accurate.!!!
Thank you for this guide, I can't believe all this time all I got to do was to install the RAM correctly.
Loved it! Thanks Carey
I thought I broke my computer when I took it apart, turns out I just didn’t place the ram in properly! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!
Love u man. My ram didn't want to fit 'cause the motherboard was too new. Thank u for instructions
THANK YOU! Totally forgot about the order of install. It's also crazy how need to push one side in at a time. I removed, pushed one side then next, then it was fine. Phew!
finally a video that helped me! exact same motherboard and everything! thank you so much!!
I was quite unsure if i ran it wrong for aprox 2 years by now but thx for clarifying it, i did in fact install it the right way the first time (currently installing a soundcard)
Finally a KZread video that has the same style ram holders I have

great vid :) thank you, i happen to have the same vengence mem.
Best ram install video out there
Great video man thank you I needed this so bad
Excellent description 👌
Wow turns out i Just wasnt pressing hard enough for it to get set in place Thanks!
Thanks for the tips great video! 👌🏻👌🏻
I really needed your help Thanks!
All these years been used to having both ends open up on the slots. Of course, putting in one end first is intuitive. It's obvious. YET, the hell we went through trying to get the ram in was insane. How hard were we supposed to push into that corner!?? Our experience was nothing like what you demonstrated.

Great video. Thank you.
thanks! turns out my ram was bad and it was causing my pc to shut off after ~10 minutes, works now, just got half the ram
Oh thank you, i didn’t click them one by one. But now it worked🥰
Really appreciate this video. I just switched out the single 16gb stick that came with my g15dk. And replaced it with 2 16gb corsair cards. A lot of the videos I watched said to start at the slot closest to the processor. But that did not work and when I put them in the two grey slots instead, everything worked perfectly. From what I understand, the only way to use my third stick and keep the pc at dual channel, is to get a 4th. As they work in pairs for dual channel. Can you tell me if this is true? And would it be better if I only used the 2 new sticks. Rather than 3. And you may have already done so. But a video explaining how to get argb with a non rgb board. I finally figured it out I think. But info is very scarce it seems. I just ordered a simple argb controller. And I'm hoping I'll have a sata connector coming from my power supply that will work for my fan lights. Thanks again.
Danke ♡ You help mee a lot i try to open the one side
Thanks so much I was installing ram in the wrong slots I should of went into the manual but thanks either way!
Thanx for the help turns out I wasnt putting the sticks in the right 1234 order. I had the sticks in the gray instead of black. Weirdly the PC I bought second hand had the one stick in the black. Once again 🙏
Im about to try it....wish me luck boys!
very helpful thank you

Installing the ram is not the problem. My problem is how the heck do I remove the ram? I got that configuration on my Asus Z170-A. I can not figure out how to remove the ram. I saw in the manual, that you only have to push the one push to release button, then it should be able to take the ram stick out. In my case that doesn't work though, please help!
Nice video thanks
Thank you so much
Thank you!
You are the best sir!
thank you for your video, how to take them out in this one side click configuration?

Complex tips IN Simple words
Can you install them when the motherboard is installed in the case or will it damage the motherboard when your pushing the ram into the motherboard?

This is a good question and hasn't been answered. Any tips that you could find? I'm about to extract and put back again the 2 ram sticks I have and I don't want to remove the whole motherboard. Thx
took me like 10 videos to get what u said in 5 seconds.,, ty
what are the other two slots for? upgrading ram later on after atleast having x2 rams in 1 socket of each channel? will it run slower because its dual and not quad with 3 channels if i add one ram stick? Can i add only 1 on first channel without having 2 more will it be bad? all this stuff and more i want answers for but noone shows it.
thanks brother
thankyou !
thanks for making me realise my motherboard has one side which can’t open!! 😭💪🏽

So can someone please answer this for me!!! When I put it in my motherboard I am using the same ram in the video btw but when I put the ram in I can only get the side that doesn’t have the little lever to click do I need to push harder just curious because I don’t wanna damage the motherboard
3:27 snapped one of these off, thanks Asus
i have the asus b450 m-a motherboard with 2 sticks of ballistix 4gb ram ddr4 @2666 installed on the black sockets it was perfectly fine until i bought another pair of the exact same ones and installed in on the gray sockets now the computer turns on but the screen is black can anyone help me tell me why this is happening thanks i was told to removed the battery from the motherboard to reset the bios is this correct.
Omg thank you bro
thanks for saying "push on side and then the other side" i was having trubles with the only 1 click
i just got this motherboard and for some reason it only notices one stick of memory while i have 2 in. they worked on my previous motherboard but with this its not working as well. i have them setup on the grey slots. hopefully i dont have a faulty motherboard
thanks Carey for your help AAAA++++++++
if i already have 2 in and want to put in a 3 does it work?
what is better to use if you are trying to get 32GB of ram and you have 4 ram slots? 4 x 8 =32 GB or 2 x 16= 32 GB or dose it matter?
@venividivici4253
5 жыл бұрын
I would get 8GB of 4 sticks. That is the better deal. That is what I am doing for my threadripper build.
@VishalKumar-rn6tl
4 жыл бұрын
It will depend on the motherboard. If it supports quad channel then you are better off with 4x8.. If only 2 slots are for dual channel and the rest two are single channel supported( as in most of the mobo) it will not matter.
