Most EV profiles now have pre-loaded dashboards. If you want to see it (or if you use this app with more EVs) open Settings/My cars/create New car and enter it. Then in Settings/Connection Profile select your EV brand profile. Alternatively use Settings/Dashboard/Reset dashboard to default (but it will overwrite your existing dashboard).

My diesel engines for my boat - I connected to my computer to calibrate the injectors and turbo settings. It had a ton of other data as well, so yes, all of this data comes from fossil fuel ECU. People have no idea how many sensors are all over the place.

it had to due iOS has some restriction to use Bluetooth communications to device OBD. Unless the unit is supported for iOS but you can buy OBDlink MX+. This device works both Android and iOS. www.obdlink.com/products/obdlink-mxp/

I would suggest that you do not have an OBDII dongle with wireless connectivity attached at all times. There have been security compromises of such dongles and if attacked successfully an attacker might be able to open doors, start the car or activte brakes. Just testing for a while is likely minimal risk, but if a lot of people drive with such dongles active at all times doing a drive-by attack might become worthwhile for a would be attacker.

This one should work with Bluetooth too, not relying on Wifi only. Should be safer

Thanks for the video. For the Hyundai Kona EV, do you have any idea how reliable the SOH is? My car is 2 years old is still at 100% (same for other Kona owners even at 40000+ km). Some say that the SOH info on hyundai is like a ok/bad indicator, at 100% (when real soh above 70%) and 70% when bad (real soh 70% or lower). Have you heard anything about that?

Car Scanner App does not have a profile for Rivian EVs. It would be helpful if you could get that added into the app.

An updated profile for the e-golf would be great. I'm using the e-up2020 profile and most stuff works, but not everything. And carscanner is also missing a function to combine voltage and current to have kw afaik. Would be useful for the e-golf degradation video you thought about in a recent video.

Hey Bjorn, about this car, I have a 2016 Soul with the 27kwh battery. I got in my car this morning, +10c outside temperature, 80% charge showed 132km on the GoM. The battery warranty here in Canada is 8 years or 150,000km. Is this 2015 over the Kms or something? If not the dealer should get the battery replaced, it's eligible of the SoH is under 70%.

with my "scan my Tesla Beta" I use gauges with temp and kw power applied on motors

Can't seem to find Polestar 2 either. Battery temperature would be awesome to know since Polestar has no plans on rolling out that information to the users of the car. It's not in the list, however, since it shares is technology with Volvo you can use the Volvo brand and choose one of the hybrids. I've seen it work with my polestar. However I haven't had the chance to take a close look at what sensor data actually is available besides speed.

Can anyone add wether keeping OBD dongle plugged in indeed drains the 12V battery ? I mean every other factor can drain it, but then it gets recharged anyway

Hello! I have a challenge for your friend who developed this app, I need support for the Mercedes B250e, the one with powertrain from Tesla. It seems to me that there are no reasonable DIY gadgets that are able to talk to this car. I don't know if it's the mix of Mercedes and Tesla that makes it so complicated... If you know of any reasonable equipment that could at least read fault codes, I would be grateful for any tip...

There is 73k km in the odo meter if i see it correctly and the Cumulative energy charged is 6429 kwh. Does it mean that the average consumption is 8.8 kwh/100 km (88 wh/km)? Or do i miscalculate something?

This counter is reset every time BMS software update is done. It also counts energy from regen while driving.

iCar Vgate obd adapters automatically turn off after 30 minutes when car is shut off, can be left overnight.

Apr192021 After the first lockdown over a year ago my LEAF Tekna 40kw 12v battery went flat after two weeks. Only the OBD dongle was "live". Since I unplugged it the 12v has been ok since.

Yes, the OBDLink LX has a sleep mode. But Be careful to use it with the Android app Torque, it can switch off the sleep mode (see App-Configuration)! Then it will drain your 12 V battery. This happened to me, while I was ill and not driving in the car for two weeks. 😖🚗⚡️❌🔋❌😭 It took a while to find out, how and why this happened.

Max regen on the ampera is 70kwh but max charge its peaks at 55kwh :-( . so at best condision from 10-50 % soc its take 30 min.

kW/h is wrong. kWh is for energy kW is for power When you charge at 1 kW during 1 h, you get 1 kWh

Battery temperature is also important for daily driving, don't hammer the car till the battery temperature is ok. Otherwise, you risk accelerated degradation. Every EV should display it right next to the speed, like every fossil displays refs. It's exactly the same. You don't ref your fossil when it is freezing cold, do you? Well i do, but that is a long story. ^^
