How to install and fix a TPI Crankcase Pressure sensor (CCP Sensor)

Спорт

This video will show you how to install a new crankcase pressure sensor (CCP sensor) on a KTM or Husqvarna TPI 2 stroke. In addition to swapping the sensor, I also recommend to check the metal fitting and see if it's clogged with residue, which can also cause the sputtering issue.
After I walk through the steps to replace the sensor and clean the fitting, I go for a test ride. It's very cold (28 F) and my bike never completely warms up. According to the fan, the highest it hit is about 100 F.

    I have the same problem. Just started doing it at 25 hours even in 70 degree weather in california. Completely warmed up it does it, not as bad as cold motor but it's bad. I've own it for maybe 8 months. I don't think there is a warranty anymore.

    How many hours on your bike? Was it sputtering since new or did it start out of no where? Kinda hard to tell if it's any better or not.

    15 hours and I honestly don't think I had a sputtering issue. The bike is just cold and the fan confirms that. I don't hear the sputtering in my riding videos. Hopefully this video helps those who are actually having the issue. I could be wrong though.

    I would say no. The only issues I've had with my bike are the low idle, a bad CCP sensor, and leaking countershaft seal. Easy fixes.

    I just completed this similar test due to constant plug foul & sputtering by switching the pressure sensors. I installed a new spark plug and attempted to start the bike, fired once and now wont start at all, cleaned plug next day and still wont start. So aggravating! Bike is a 2020 KTM 250 XCW TPI with 20HRS. My first extreme enduro race is out of state this coming weekend! no pressure right!?

    Hello guys, when you had problem with this sensor CCP maybe you had a problem with a spark plug at the same time? Since about 10 hours (total mileage 43h - KTM EXC300 TPI MY2020) I have a problem with a spark plug, it looks like too rich mixture. The spark plug is black and a little wet, when I clean it up, bike runs and start normally - I replaced them about 3 times, because I thought that is broken, but cleaning helped, spark plug works fine - NGK BR7ES (the owner manual say that my spark plug can be used interchangeably with a NGK ZGR7GI-13G). I've got an additional idle screw mode in my bike if this an importatnt information. Thanks for any tips ;)

    Shift Gears Drink Beers been following your vids and replying to several ppl to get some input maybe you can help.... I’m picking mine up soon, what’s the process you follow to cold start and allow to warm? I read the manual with heating the battery pulling out cold start not opening the throttle and that’s all the manual says. KZread some say let it idle for 10 mins and don’t blip throttle, dirt bike channel says you have to blip throttle lol any input would be much appreciated. Apparently before buying I only watched/read the positive reviews. After my deposit I see lots of comments of crankcase, ambient pressure sensor replacement, power valve leaks. 11k bike man. Thanks in advance -Eric

    Dude, you gotta let the bike warm up to at least 130 degrees and then shut it off for 5 seconds and then restart. If you just jump on your riding it in a cold start warm up map and it’s going continue to run like that.

  • @ShiftGearsMoto

    @ShiftGearsMoto

    2 жыл бұрын

    More accurately, you need to allow the bike to warm up properly and not run it hard until it's at operating temp. When it's 10 degrees out, it will take a VERY long time for the radiators to get to operating temp just idling. 15 min? Not good for the bike either and you'll foul your spark plug. Just take it easy after you get 100+

    Washington state, have had the bike since September and have over 35 hours. Temperature ranges from 28-50 degrees this time of year. Always follow the same warm up procedure. Cold start knob out, start and run for 30 seconds turn cold knob in and let it idle without touching the throttle until it reaches 130 minimum. Shut off the bike for at least 5 seconds and start then ride. I even ran the air screw completely shut (rich) for an entire 5 hour ride and never fouled a plug and it looked fine when I pulled it out, just got terrible fuel mileage as a result.
