FREE KTM/Husqvarna Crankcase Pressure Sensor Fix

Спорт

I recently learned about a FREE fix for faulty or failing KTM/Husky crankcase pressure sensors (CCP sensors). I'm not saying this will 100% work, but it's definitely worth a shot if you're experiencing this issue. These sensors cost about $45 and are very hard to find. Seems like they're availability is limited globally, so why not give this a shot? Hopefully this solution works out for you and please let me know if it does.

    The cylinder line from the sensor needs to be cleaned along with the brass bung plug. Also, need a new sensor (apply silicone grease) they are available now. It appears to me it is carbon and/or oily residue. (most likely from the line from the cylinder getting plugged).

    I heard that the crank case sensor fails way more often than the ambient pressure sensor. Would you recommend swapping the sensors as part of preventive maintenance on like 100h of riding time? Just to even the "stress" on both sensors and swap the dirtier crank side with the cleaner ambient side.

    I have a new 2024 300 XC-W in the USA (14 hours on it). I am having problems at low RPM. The bike runs rough as if it were cold, or lean. Looking online it seems that for the TPI models this used to be a Crankcase Sensor issue. I cannot find any information online to whether the 2024 TBI also has an issue with this sensor (my bike is pretty clean with only 14 hours). Do you have any suggestions?

    I've noticed that water likes to sit inside the plastic trays for these sensors after a good cleaning, and fine dust collects just underneath them. I'm suspicious that this is the culprit of repeat failures; wondering if anyone had CCPS go bad without doing a cleaning yet (ran like crap right off the dealer floor)? I'm considering doing a silicone coating around the base of the sensor if this happens to me again (just did the ambient swap to see if my crankcase one is bad).

  • @ShiftGearsMoto

    @ShiftGearsMoto

    2 жыл бұрын

    I've never looked after washing the bike, but I suppose it's possible. Water sitting in the tray shouldn't matter, as long as the seal is doing its job (which is probably doesn't). If someone has a sensor go bad before their first wash, they should take it back to the dealer for further inspection.

    @@Dat_Sun I think my ambient-swapped sensor just went bad after only 8 hours. I think it's the water from washing that is damaging it. I'm gonna try silicone sealing the new one I got. So freakin' annoying, the bike runs like crap at low RPM when it even mildly acts up.
