Your videos gave me much confidence in my refreshing of a very valued customer's M21 (my First Muncie). Transmissions are not a common thing I overhaul as an independent auto mechanic. I really appreciate your videos and contributions to the industry. You are truly a master of your trade. Thank you,

Like a lot of people I do not thank those who help me the most. I received my new Hurst shifter , laid everything out just as Paul did and went to work. My transmission was already in the car so it was a little different than in the video, but not much. I even took my laptop to the garage with me. You see, I am not much of a mechanic, but I installed the shifter in one day and never had to take anything off to adjust the linkage, it went on right the first time. Now my little 64 Nova two door hardtop is even more fun to drive and I am off to bigger projects. It always helps that I have had this car since 1967, never gets old, Thanks again Paul, doubt that I would have done it without you.

Thank you for the video! My 1968 Camaro was "hanging up" when trying to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. After watching, I had a much better understanding of how the entire mechanism worked. The 1-2 rod had a lot of play and after replacing the bushings and resynchronizing all of them to the neutral position, it shifts like never before. My only regret is not buying the steel bushings, as I needed to fix it within a certain timeframe. Thanks!

WOW! Just WOW! What a piece of information that is! Explained to me like I'm a six year old, just the way I need it to be. This is a clinic on how to explain complex mechanisms in digestible pieces so that dummies like me can understand and use the information. That was more enjoyable to watch than any silly Marvel movie. My goodness, Paul, you are a great man! Thank you so much, I think I can figure out what is keeping my muncie from shifting into neutral and 1 through 4. Right now all she has is reverse. At least I have a starting place now and an idea what I'm looking at. Best Video on youtube!

I'm an authorized Autogear reseller. So I build my own M22 type transmissions with their components and have had some design input into them as well. I DO NOT like the gear vendors system. The problem is I do not think the extension housing adapter has good alignment with the transmission and overdrive unit. Its very long and makes for a very short driveshaft and clearance issues. Your money is better spent on a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed.

Good Video I broke off a stud shifter on my muncie. I ground the excess of and drilled and tapped the part to accept a bolt. Worked fine. I may need those adapters you have. Always wondered why there was some slop in the hurst shift plates.

Awesome video, thanks. I'm swapping a Saginaw 3 speed for an M-20 in old C10, I haven't messed around with setting up shifters in years, your video was a great refresher, plus it's even better to learn a few tricks of the trade from guys who do this stuff everyday! I'm intrigued by the steel bushings you used, and how'd they feel in a daily driver or if they'd be overkill. Thanks again.

I sell a lot of steel bushing kits. I really have not had any complaints. The problem with the plastic bushings is that they are deteriorating fairly quickly and as a result causing poor shift feel.

Thank you for liking it. Some people complain about sound issues and stupid stuff. Reality is that likes and dislikes are so off relative to the amount of views, so its hard to judge.

Thanks, Paul, for a very thorough setup and adjustment process. I swapped an LS6 in my '72 Zee around 79 and replaced the old shifter with a comp plus (it had a steel alignment rod) it was a daily driver for me, many miles! I had a few occasions where the spring rod retainers at the shift fork lever would "disappear" and leave me in 3rd or 4th gear. After walking the shoulder, I would find a nail, and once another spring retainer, then I would crawl underneath and get the muncie back shifting. So I decided to add ground washers and cotter pins, and I never had this problem again, they seemed to always disappear on a busy highway in the summer and I hated for my car and I to be seen "broke down" for something this simple, have you heard of any problems with retaining shift rods this way? I'll be on Super661 when I start disassembling...

Thanks for pointing that out. The bracket is for the Hurst optional switch. I never understood why they include it. It should be included with the switch not the shifter. Thanks so much for watching my vids.
