Come along on a path of discovery doing something I have never done before.... surprisingly it worked out really well. I would suggest watching the whole video before installing a sub, so you know the quickest way to do everything.
All you'll need for this install is some T-Taps and some spade connectors which you can find on eBay for like £3 a bag.

    Fab informative video! Got similar car to yours, 2015 stage 3 v1 hybrid 270whp also in white & enjoying your content! Picked up a used Fly trap 12 active sub & going to copy your install. Only part I'm unsure of is the "ignition live" connection & where I can attach it to. Don't want to start messing around in the fusebox, can you recommend a simple piggyback connection for this wire to attach to? Would be appreciated. 👍

    Yes I am. I'm not a huge bass fanatic, but this package is awesome. The remote allows you to kinda fine tune what you want out of it and while on the fly. I know some systems you have to do it on the amp which isn't possible while driving.. so for me if a bassy song comes on I can crank it up and shake my wind deflectors off, but for most it just gives it that'll little bit more background when I have it set kinda a quarter to half on the dials. For the price you seriously can't go wrong...

    @@AndyNuberg no worries. You could also look in the car manual to find what fuse is for what, you would want it plugged into one like car radio so it'll switch on at the same time as that. Depending on your car, it could be in a fuse for (let's say) side lights which is only live when your side lights are on for example and will explain why it's sometimes on or not. Car Rambles an do you have to disable the bass on your normal boxes or does it automatically only play the low frequencies on the sub? Sorry if I’m annoying, but I know nothing about wiring😅

    Completely depends on what dashcam you have. I would recommend if it's able to record while the car is parked up hooking it up as instructions will tell you, otherwise ignition live of any source will work perfectly :)

    @@CarRambles Hey! I've bought en received the subwoofer. I'm installing it this week. I got two questions, maybe you could help me ? :) I'm planning to wire the subwoofer, just like you, directly to the rearspeakers. 1. Wouldn't the subwoofer drain energy from the rear speakers? So as a result the rear speakers would interfere (dont know exactly how to say that in english, it's not my mother tongue). 2. When I go to the settings in your car radio, I have the bass sett on 50 percent. Wouldn't you then use only 50 percent of the subwoofers bass capacity (when you wire the subwoofer directly to the rear speakers, like you did)? Even when you set the bass one the remote controll on 100 percent?

  • @CarRambles

    @CarRambles

    Sub is controlled with a controller so you can get the bass yourself through that. No rear speakers are fine done worry :)

    Why use scotch locks would u not be safer soldering and why not use a wire stripper to bare the wire instead of a stanley blade

  • @CarRambles

    @CarRambles

    4 жыл бұрын

    Scotch locks due to not having to make a semi permanent connection onto a car that will one day go back stock (probably). Never had a problem with scotch locks and never had one come off, soldering onto the main loom in your car is semi sketchy if you burn through a wire or anything goes wrong.. Secondly a Stanley because I didn't have wire strippers to hand as they was at work.. Hope that answers your questions.

    I would suggest snipping off the end of the rca cable and connect it directly to 1 of the speakers to those wondering about those splice clips, wrong wires etc. I have never seen those special clips either. If u wondering where to get a live from to activate the sub with the ignition turned on fo straight to the fuse box and just pop the wire under 1 of the fuses like the radio, cig lighter, blower etc
