HOW TO INCREASE YOUR DEER FOOD

In this video, we show you how we spent an
afternoon creating more food for deer on one of our Michigan properties. Woody browse / regeneration is a big part of of a deers diet.
In addition to some of the best food plots in the area, the popple regen will help feed the deer all year long.

Great return on investment. Two years ago i cut down 12-15 popple that was planted along property line next to ag field. Farmer was complaining about shoots coming up in his field. Thought i was doing him a favor, turns out the next year it was in infested with stumps shoots and they grow very fast. Great way to add browse and cover. Thanks for all the info you share.

I am thinking this may be the only option. Unless there is another option that won’t harm the popple shoots and woody browse. I’d love to try it.

I did the same thing on my property in Presque isle county NLP. Dropped mature poplar hard and soft maple. The deer smashed the tops

My plan has been very similar the past year or two. I'm doing this with soft maple and red osier dogwood.

Maple you could probably hinge some and clean cut some. Popple sends up so many new shoots that this is will work great

Thank you for the videos. I have a similar situation at my property, mix of dead ash, poplar and tag alders. What are your thoughts about cutting shooting lanes in the swamp in a spoke pattern for a gun blind to catch deer coming back to beds from the plots?

They seem to walk around the lanes. Just outside the very ends. I would keep them as unnoticed as possible

What type of willow are you using to plant? I am in northern WI and the deer do not eat willow.

Whatever I find in ditches. We will use some weeping willow and also the 6 foot variety. I have seen them brows on. Willow shoots when they are 3 to 5 feet tall.

Hello John, i wanted to know if shipping costs have come down at all. I live in maine and used your products for a few years but had to change because it cost me over 120 bucks just for shipping. I enjoyed the seed, it works for sure. I understand you can only do so much, just wanted to see if you had any info on this. Really enjoy the products and take care
