I love neocolors 2 so much.

Have you ever tried using them with the caran d'ache waterbrush with felt tip point? If you leave it uncapped it will dry out a bit so it doesn't give as much water.. use circle motions and rub when finished and the result are really nice. There is also a video from colouring with clair about making a background and she suggested to use several layers.. then wax will build and you will create a flat background without areas with less colours. Loved all your tips but I wanted to add this.

Perfect timing. I purchased a few Neo colour 2 crayons recently and tried them out. I love the way they dissolved, however I didn't get the look I wanted as now I know I put the colour on too lightly. Thank you so much for your help.

this really helped me I just used them in a hanna karlzon page and couldn't figure out why it looked horrible, and this video definitely helped im gonna do another page tomorrow to do it differently to see if it will be better. thanks for the tips

I'm so happy to hear that it was helpful! My first neocolor background also weren't nice looking, LOL. I tended to use too much water and hard small waterbrush.

@@ColoringwithAlena I have those water holding brushes from amazon, and I make sure to use lots of pigment, but it seems streaky and splotchy

Never mind! I see you indicated the brushes you recommended to a follower below, so I used the links you provided and bought both brushes. Thank you so much for this video. It was super helpful, especially the part about trying it out on a picture you don’t care for because I would have gone straight to my Kerby books. I definitely don’t want to ruin them!😍👍🏻💖💘💝🇨🇦

When I just got Neocolors I tried to use my waterbrush with them, and the result was terrible. I realized that it was too hard for them and that regular, softer brush would be better. So now I use those brushes from Jackson's, synthetic fake squirrel, size selection depends from the area I need to cover with water. And be careful with Kerby books! In my Fragile Word watercolor paints work amazing, and in Wodls Winthin.. (from the different publisher) watercolors ruined my page (((

I'm sure that you will enjoy your new set! The best thing to get used to Neocolors is to experiment more - try various brushes, mix colors, and you will start to feel them better

Thank you so much for this video I have a small set of 15 Neo color and just recently my orange Neo broke right in half. I was so surprised. I have been using a water brush but I think too much water comes out. So I am going to change to a brush like you use.

So so helpful Alena, I think my problem is that I don’t put enough pigment down to start with. I must be more brave with my neos! 😁 A very beautiful finish 😘 xx

I simply drew them with white Neocolor II crayon.... and then for couple of circles I also added pink Neo II crayon in the center to match color of dahlias

@@LisasColoringCorner No, no! For the circles I used Neo II as regular crayon, without adding water. It's the same as drawing them with regular white pencil, but with Neocolors shape of circles look a little bit softer...

What is the name of the paint brush you use for your Neocolor? It is not indicated in the description box. I also shop at Jackson Art for my art supplies so it's perfect for me to purchase your brush. I have recently purchased Neocolors II but I have yet to purchase a brush for it. What kind of paint are you using on the tips of the flowers? Is it acrylic?

Yes, it's acrylic Titanium White. You can use gouache paint also , but I prefer acrylic because it becomes permanent after drying so if needed I was able to use watercolors on top of it

At 24:19 what type of white paint are you using? Is it watercolor, acrylic, or a wash? And what brand? Thanks.

I used gouache paint, color Titanium White, manufacturer - Russian brand 'White Nights'

I have issued with water staining on the opposite side where I use them with water. Do you prep your pages?

No, I didn't have any issues with bleeding through in the books with good paper like H.Karlzon or M.Trolle or J.Basford, so I don't use any gesso to prepare pages. The only bleeding through problems I had in the books with thin paper of Selina fenech and in English edition of Tamoko Tashiro books

Зачем делать видео на английском языке и запускать его в русскоязычном пространстве??? Это не уважительно и не красиво по отношению к русскоязычным людям!!! Вы работаете как то на две стороны, то по-русски видео выходят, то по-английски. Вы уж опредилитесь как-нибудь на кого Вы работаете??? На россиян или на американцев?!
