I don't fear uphill, its downhill on loose gravel and turns that screws me up. Its hard to not grab to much front brake when you feel out of control in that situation. Appreciate your videos, as a fairly new rider and older person, its helping my skills. LOL

Same. Because of where we live and ride (coal mines - forest) you learn rocky uphills pretty quick, but steep rocky downhills with trees to run into along the bottom sketch me out. 😂

100% this for me as well. I learnt to ride on those same pea gravel tracks Adam is on in Julimar forest. I love the up hills, jumping ruts and having a blast. Downhill, shocking. Nipping front brake, locking the rear and it trying to overtake the front. I can get it done tiptoe style, but I'd love to blast down the hills like the good blokes are doing.

My XR650L is a tractor, I could climb 90 degrees hills with it, no issue, what scares me are loose gravel downhills as well, I have gone downhill "detached" from my bike a few times. 😅
👌 one liners “don’t rip the skin of the pudding”
Adam is a legend. Love the range of dialogue and demonstration that ranges from generally accessible all the way to mind blowing.
Crazy how much control someone like you instinctively has over that bike. I rip my bike and it’s bouncing me around half the time. Was glorious watching you rip up that hill
There is only a few of you out there, people who makes videos about how to ride, that actually CAN ride. I know I will never be able to half of what you do, but still I really enjoy watching. Keep up the good work :)
Absolutely love seeing the legend himself back on dirt bikes. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy your adventure bike videos but you are the man that got me to buy a dirt bike and your videos helped me practice on it. I remember taking so much from The Prodigy series and now this series is giving me so much more to practice. Your a legend that has given so much advice over the years. Though I don’t believe I’ll ever get to the skill level your at, I inspire to get close. Thank you Mr. Riemann!
I would love a video on personal protection for trail/off road/ adventure etc. Like, when to use MX stuff, when to use abrasion gear. When to combine the two etc.
Thanks Adam. I pigrooted some hills out the back of Dungog yesty and this is all I needed
Putting out the content even when you have the flu, legend!
🏍️💨 Always a pleasure learning from you Adam. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. I have a te300i and it’s great to hear someone of your caliber speak well of it after riding it. Now, to practice more with it and my new Norden.
39year old rider. Have really feel in love with riding these Austria 2 stroke cross country bikes. For the past 4 years have put in work and time riding bikes. Have learned so much because these newer bikes are a lot different than they used to be. Don’t take the skin off the pudding!!!!
Hi Adam, really enjoyed that video. It’s difficult to concentrate sometimes though with comments like “pig rooter” and “don’t pull the skin off the pudding” thrown in. Looking forward to the “twig jumping” episode. Love your work. 🇦🇺
Fantastic. On a lighter note, I feel like I have all it takes here to break both me bones and me boike. Appreciate you helping us on the process..
Great video Adam. It really helps being on a very light dirt bike. At least for me. Growing up in Southern California we had very technical riding in the mountains. Had a susuki tm400 that was great for hill climbs. Now at 70 things have gotten way difficult. But videos like yours are helping me remember what do to do. Sure would be nice if you could add some slow motion in portions of your videos.
Another useful video. I had a bad crash going downhill as realised had no back brake and ma body position was to far forward and then applied to much front and went over the bars snapping ma collar bone, and needed platted with 8 screws. Can’t wait to get back on the bike and applying these tips. Keep safe and hope you get better soon ✊🤘🏾
On Vancouver Island - Part of a Dual Sport Club. This video really helped me a lot. Watched this many times and it gave me the courage to do tougher hills.
Thank you Adam, I truly love your content... to leave the fear away. I'm still working on it, time is the essence. Please keep your content. I truly love it...
I have the same bikes as you. T7 and TE300 and I really like it. I've been riding motorcycles for maybe 10 years and I love the terrain. And I liked your videos the most now. I have a lot of these experiences than what you are talking about. But you got me into everything what I'm missing. For example, adding power only when I have traction, I was doing it wrong. Thanks you wery much for this advice.
Great stuff and loving the content in your Members area. Thanks and hope you are recovering from your flu.

Clear and simple explanation for newbies like me Adam.....so far i have been able to "jump" a couple of matchsticks, ice-block sticks next...onwards and upwards!! 👌🤓
Thanks! The hill climb traction dance is always fun

These tips are super relevant.. not only for the enduro boys but also for the Adv guys.. when riding into a new mountain pass.. you got just tackle it as far as you see it… slow n steady Sometimes it carries on for km’s So you stop to check the view out😎 And then carry on into the next valley n the pass thereafter 🤘
You are a legend bro!!! Pursuing passion of your life
As a new dirt rider, thank you for sharing 🤙🏻
Nice skills demonstration, Adam. A few words about lower tire pressure would help too. Here in the PNW of the USA we run Tubliss in the rear sticky knobby tire so we can air down to zero psi if necessary to get up the hill. You can double the traction by doubling the contact patch.
man I've always been good at hills, I spent a lot of my early child hood on the hills in the south west. Also the clayish soil in my area is mad rn in winter, just adds an extra factor to think about. anyway great video mate
Thanks for these videos.
Really the best channel out there. Love it.
Great tips
Love your videos. I share them with our ktm 640 adventure group...5k or so. Cheers!
Good stuff. Thank
Great video. Yeah I'm one of the old boys that just tractor up. Love my TE300.
Cool vid and great advice as usual 👍🏻🤙🏻
Would be great to see you do it on dr650 with the stock suspension :)

The fun starts when you’re halfway up, just clicked down into 2nd as you make it thru the blind chicane, only to find a 6” log a ft off the ground! Now you’re climbing hills in the PNW!
excellent advice as always
Thank you A mann, Cheers
Great watching as always✊

Love these videos.
I hope that get fit and start racing again comment was foreshadowing lol
Thanks very much for you invaluable advice. Lots to learn, very well presented. Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
Love it mate keep it up
Díky!
Thanks for that.
Hills and river crossings are so fun. Just put your trust in the bike and send it. I’d like to see a video on doing this with street tires. Sometimes I encounter a gnarly mountain road on my KTM 990smt.
In New Zealand they call it the sheep rooter. They also call taking the skin of the pudding. Knocking the top of it

That's how the old boys do it.... Aha,I knew i was on to something. Slow n steady.😆. And the pudding thing. Totally agree.
Hi! Greetings from India. Fantastic stuff this is. I was wondering if you could make a video teaching how to handle relatively smoother tarmac, dotted by bad stretches, twisting up and down the hills. This is the commonest form of hill climb I do in the Dooars in West Bengal. It's also very common in Ladakh, Jharkhand and the Deccan. Thanks in advance. ❤
Yep, modern 2 strokes are so good. Try a Tubeliss rear end with 5psi too. Hill climbing machine.
thanks Adam
Big fan here, i absolutely love your videos and tutorials. Your videos with the Tenere 700 are the ones that got me into the world of motorcycling, and convinced me to start my driving school. About 6 months later after watching my first ARiemann1 video, i finally finished the driving courses and a week ago I just got my moto driving license in the mail and i can't wait to get my first bike. I would love to see you ride a single cylinder BMW F650GS ( or even the Dakar version; the 2000-2007 models) and throwing it around corners in drifts and jumps, i'm really curious if the bike can be handled that way. What do you think, could the bike be up for the task? I would have loved a Tenere 700 but the price is way out of my league, but the BMW is pretty affordable on the used market. Thanks, and cheers!

Got my license last year and bought F650GS 2004 model as my first bike. I clocked around 10k km so far and i can recommend this bike for a first bike. Eventually i wanna get hands on the T7 aswell but as you said, those are really expensive.

Think about what riding you aim to do. How much will be paved, how much gravel, how much off road/trail. One advice that a lot of people echo is to get a 250cc if you aim to learn proper off road techniques. Its a lot easier to learn on a 150kg bike than a 250kg bike. Imagine you aim to learn to parallel park a car. Which one is easiest to learn on, a minicooper or a truck? The mini ofc.
@ValentinBeeeeee

@@youp2ss do you have the basic model f650gs or the Dakar? I just found out that the Dakar does not come with ABS, and i was wondering if it is really necessary considering i would want to ride the bike all year round meaning the rain season too
@ValentinBeeeeee
10 ай бұрын
@@jace4817 i guess it will about 50/50 considering the bad roads in my country. I initially wanted to get a bike to throw it around in offroad but it being quite a big investment i say it’s just better to get a bike that does it all, road and off road. Praise the T7!

@@ValentinBeeeeee I have basic f650gs with abs and heated grips from factory. You dont really need abs when you learn how to brake on different surfaces. I would get dakar version for sure. Sadly no dakar in my country.

i can really use those tips, thanks alot! i guess the rock jumping is a bit advanced for me though :D I was wondering if you have ever given PivotPegz a look? they are a manufacturer from australia who builds awesome pivoting foot pegs for any bike you want
Hey Adam thanks do much for your channel man, I am about to get my first dirt bike I am a skilled road rider (like 100kmh tunneling in between car on heavy traffic) gained those skills overseas.... ...and a lot of experience with 4x4 in vehicles so I figured I will get the hang of it quick smart but very confusing choice.... Had in mind... ktm 300exc, husky te300, wr250f and was looking at ktm 500 exc too. I will be fully loaded with enough gear to camp for a weekend and a heavier fuel tank to spread the weight... Opening trails through thick untouched bush. What would you pick if you were in my shoes? Thanks so much man 🙏
Best advice re hill riding ive use is aim with your back wheel, don't let off once your front wheel has hit home...IRC Tyre Guy!
Nice video
Amazing video. Still would appreciate you doing them on adventure bike as many of us ride them. Or You can do these sections once on Dirt BIke then on an Adventure Bike! Keep rocking!

What part of Australia are you based in, the terrain looks great and I'm thinking that part of the world might suit me 👌😎
I like too put one leg back on really technical slow hills.
Hi Adam, I do a lot of my riding 2 up with my wife on the back of my Tiger 800. Carrying precious cargo dictates our riding style and somewhat limits tracks we can follow. Picking the right line and using the perfect amount of momentum is my tactic. That works most of the time but we have dropped the bike a few times. Would you consider putting together a video of tips for riding 2 up on adventure bikes? I bet there are a lot of riders out there who stick to the pavement because they doubt their own or the bikes capabilities when riding with a pillion.

I have found I do WAY better on hill climbs in 2nd gear. I stall out too often in 1st gear but in 2nd I conquer most hills with no issue, and that's been with both my prior bike a YZ426f and my current bike the 2020 FC250. There is this one hill that's pretty nasty, side by side ruts a foot deep, steep like the one you had the front tire slide, loose rocks, and sometimes mud. too. Have trouble with that one but I've always gotten up it though a few times was a real struggle and was more of repeated wrecks that riding. But I've fully succeeded a few times too so I know I can do it and keep trying. Enjoy these vids a lot, but wondering how the bike was able to idle up that hill? My bikes would have stalled doing that.
Take care..
That husky looks and sounds amazing I got a reiju mr pro 300 don't regret it but would love a husky
Terrific vid Adam...I'm one with that fear of looping, because I've done it a couple of times...it mostly comes from being kicked back (not paying proper attention, and then hanging on for dear life, which ends in you-know-what ;-)).....is practising emergency clutching the best solution, in your view?
