I started seeds from Amazon, planted seedlings in aquatic planting media but was told no fertilizer until I have standing leaves. I think they were going based on full-sized lotus. I fertilizer at 1 standing leaf with 1 pond tablet fertilizer pushed into soil and then added another 3 weeks later then 2 weeks another and I might add a half tablet because I have 2 baby buds now. Seed sprouted May 1 so just over 4 months. I think I should have started half tablet after I had many large floating leaves for more flower buds sooner. It is getting cooler so hopefully the will bloom before it goes dormant.

I successfully grew my lotus plants from seeds watching your video 😊In a month my pot was covered with very healthy green n fresh lotus leaves . But now most of the leaves have blackened and the new leaves are very small . Also there is some weird growth floating on top. I remove it ever alternate day , yet it appears again. Please guide me about taking care of my lotus and how to prevent the growth on top of the water in the pot .

Mine have not bloomed but gorgeous greenery bought seeds from Amazon, today will add fertilizer, bought all supplies on Amazon including the aqua dirt and fertilizer tablets, no other suppliers anywhere in my area, good luck

I would like to know: 1) How to prepared soil i.e. the quantity and type of soil? 2) What fertilizer you used and how many times to apply fertilize? 3) Do we need to change water after planting lotus in mud? If yes then how many times? 4) What should be the ideal size of tub on which you planted lotus? Will be waiting for your reply

@@swapnilpawar5352 NPK 19.19.19 is good.first while planting mix dried cow dung 3 part out of 10 part.remaining clay soil.some are using gardern top soil instead of clay.but I use clay soil.after 3 to 4 standing/ areial leaves u can add NPK qty depending upon ur pot size in 20 to 25 days interval.dont use fertiliser during dormancy

I think one thing needs to be cared about is... As it live in a pot rather in a pond... Theresa chance the water can becomes too hot... So if you can adjust this not to get excessive heat from sun... Itll be much better

Lotus never grows in 55 days, with seeds... with seeds it takes minimum 8 to 9 months, with tuber, minimum 2 to 3 months

Actually I did germinate lotus seeds within a couple months and I got quite a few leaves. However there were no flower buds or any kind, and this channel wasn't really that helpful - it never informed me of the kind of soil or mud and the proportions, nor the type of fertiliser used or the quantity.

Beautiful,I tried to grow, but after few days it started decaying .

It takes about two years for a lotus plant grown from seed to flower, but tubers produce plants that blossom the first year. Many gardeners start the tuber in a container and sink it into a pond, rather than planting it into the soil at the bottom of the pond.

Hi, I bought seeds online & put it in a plastic bowl, it will grow without mud or need to put some mud

I've seen people using NPK 15 15 15 and NPK 19 19 19. I don't know one which one is better but usually they will wrap it in paper as to slow release the fertilizer.

Most of the shop sell the normal lotus seeds, only few have the real bowl lotus seed because they much higher in price than the regular lotus seed The reason why it's not blooming is the wrong seed regular lotus will never bloom in small container
