grape seeds typically need stratification, although as we can see sometimes they don't care, but you probably would have gotten more success with stratification, good luck and plentiful harvests!

Hi, I found some grapeseeds in a jar saying Merlot (I'm a contractor and I am helping a friend of mine who bought a small dilapidated vineyard near Montpellier with renovations) I don't know how old they are, but are they still capable of growing a plant and what should we do? It seems fun to us to try it out.

Hi :-) Have you got the chance to get mature plants that produce grapes? I read about starting grapes from seed and professional growers say that plants started from seed will not be like the parent plant and they might not produce grapes at all or of a lower quality. If anybody else knows, please answer, I will greatly appreciate it.
@myalivesoul

Some time you get the good fruiting plant if the seeds are not GMOs. But still You can get the root stuck from the seeds in general. Later on you might have to end up grafting to bet better quality fruits and plants. That’s how it work. Good luck. Thank you very much for the comment. I try to grow grape from seed and put to polybag. I watered 2 times a day but after two weeks, the plant die. Do you have any idea?
@myalivesoul
4 жыл бұрын
I think you over watered them. Water just once in 3-4days if the soil seems dry. If the soil is moist no need to water.
What is this soil composed of??
@lloovveellyy742
3 жыл бұрын
I use Miracle Grow.
I think you should’ve left the seeds and the seedlings as they were growing in the same soil without taking anything off whatsoever you should’ve left it alone and the reason for this is that if you disturb the roots you can actually kill the plant so it’s a high risk to to do what you did when you transfer the plant into pots just cut it in half and put 1/2 of the earth in and then add what you need
