As a 31 years old I still need to hear these things from someone to keep the awareness high. Thank you Sam.

Loving the 'Robotic Action' tip! Reminds me of the mantra that apparently the Navy Seals drill into their recruits … 'You don't have to like it, you've just got to do it'. Am in my 50's and have only just realised the heavy price I've paid for a lifetime of weighing everything up and gauging my reactions to it … when actually I should have just been bloody cracking on and DOING THE THING! Great video Sam … good luck on your mission to 100 releases….

Thank you! This video was the spot-on call to order at the right time! I traditionally dread and procrastinate on all tasks that appear dull or bureaucratic and waste creative time. Some of them you can delegate - some you can’t! You reminded me to develop my patience, focus on the process, and become aware of and appreciate its indispensable function!

Thank you for all you do, Sam. I usually kickstart my day with one of your videos, just gets me into a solid mindset to get work done. If I may make a suggestion, I'd be interested in a video that goes into more detail on resistance and dealing with it, which you had briefly addressed in your long video at the start of the year 'how to evolve your mindset for 2024'. It might work as a nice foil to this one, with boredom often being a source of resistance.

What I have trouble with is the work that involves real engagement - you have to pay close attention - that is also boring. Grading student assignments, especially when they are poorly written. But even good ones, because you've read the same basic content so many times. The effort of willpower required is painful.

Look at the book measure what matters. There are several but if your team use smart goals and star format follow those. (Sadly metrics as story is corp currency) As an IT professional I was always encouraged to ‘be that guy’. Be the go to for something important that you also enjoy or if you know no one wants to be. Also there is a reverse way to stand out. Teach: become a mentor and look for one. Always be one and find one to follow. One other advice that is good is solve your managers or customers problem. Stop thinking of what you get but look to give. Similarly that’s why YT is so useful. Find projects outside of your job to build that experience and shadow your mentor. Learning to speak business language specifically financials and everyone should learn to sell. If you can’t grow there find a place to create your book of work.
