Next year when we start travelling a lot more then I may switch EE which as you say is a more readily available network…. When I use the mobile phone as a "router" on the roof, I use the same trick as sailors does when they put it up in their mast - I put it in a plastic bag and attach it to the roof rack, radio antenna or any other thing on the roof. Then if I forget it, it is both protected from the weather and from falling off.

So ! I’m thinking of using copper brake pipe but sliding it in a slightly bigger rubber pipe. What’s your thoughts ! The Poynting XPOL-1 antenna is really an antenna which is not made to be installed on moving objects such as an RV. We suggest considering the PUCK-2 or the better, but bigger MIMO-3-V2-12 which are units created for vehicle and such. Furthermore they are E-mark certified, so can legally be installed on RV, Bus, cars, vans, trucks and many more types of vehicles. The XPOL-1 does not have such certification.

Just a tip, as you have the exact same antennae as me and have fitted it almost identically. The antennae in the case itself are extremely fragile and the top is only push fitted. On 2 occasions now, the top has been ripped off by a tiny bit of twig hitting it just wrong while driving slowly up a track (similar to the narrow one you squeezed down to a carpark recently) and the second time, it broke the antennae and I had to replace the whole thing. I've since cut a 1/4" thick piece of ply about an inch larger in all directions and mounted that between the bracket and the antennae so any twigs hit the ply not the antenna, and that has so far sorted the issue. Just sprayed it in white van paint and lacquer to stop it getting soggy. Dry wood barely interferes with signal, but wet will make a huge difference so the lacquer is important. Hopefully that's useful as it's be nice to prevent anyone else having to replace expensive antennas like I had to

Not a short comment follows.. Great video, although a little confusing in your wording, unless things have different meanings over there to here, The router and your phone are using cellular data, and your router is sending / Communicating that data wirelessly to your device, i:E Computer or tablet. Wi-Fi has a limited range, cellular data does not. Example you say Wifi external antenna when its a cellular external antenna, Your wording suggests that the router is RECEIVING its signal wirelessly. And with this comment I should get 'Troll of the week" Keep up the great work. Norman

Others require all the data they can download to keep the grandchildren happy, As a KZread creator upload is understandably important to you.
