    Another cat lost to the Bermuda triangle!😅 By the way, you made a lot of sense in what you were saying about control. I've always held my cat firmly enough to know she's safe but loosely enough to know she's not trapped. I find it lovely knowing my cat comes to sleep on my lap because she wants to, she trusts me and we've built a bond. I guess people think the cat's rejecting them, and we all hate rejection, but I don't want blind affection that doesn't mean anything either 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I love this video. People who hate cats generally have a hard time understanding consent and respecting others boundaries. Cats do not respond to dominance and agression the way a dog will and be obediant. They will only become dominant and aggressive towards people.

    Hello, just wanted to leave a message. I just recently found your channel and the last few days I watched quite a few of your video's. I am a cat mom of Koen (ginger malecat) and Kira (tuxedo female cat) who are about 3 years old now. I adopted them a year ago now and we bonded a lot since then. I am thinking now to start clicker training them with your video's, especially Koen I think will love the engagement (he follows me around always) am wondering should separate them while clicker training or try training them at same time? is 3 years old to late to start them? I would so love to go with them walking in the parks eventually...

  • @OutdoorBengal

    @OutdoorBengal

    There are a couple things you can do if you want to train your kittens together: 1) Use a different clicker sound (so that they don't confuse their "click" with their siblings) 2) Teach them different tricks (so they don't both do the trick at the same time) The other alternative, is locking one cat at a time. You can lock yourself with the cat you are training instead of the cat that it's not trained. That makes the experience for the cat that's alone nicer. Any cat can learn, regardless of age and breed, GO FOR IT!!

    I've had my 2 cats since December and they were 7 months old at the time and super skittish and are still skittish but less so. I can tell they love me but they only semi-cuddle in bed. When they're relaxed I kiss the end of their tail and maybe one day they'll let me kiss their top of their heads without running away.

    rewarding for good behavior (god why do i suck at english at times like this) and not punishing for bad behavior isnt only the best thing to do for cats its for all animals (and yes that includes homo sapiens) also indeed body language is key. our last cat which we had to put down at the age of 19 because of age related complications actually learned us a specific body/vocal language for when she was about to throw up and i still dont know how but we also learned her to only throw up on the floor and not the bed or the carpet its weird how doing stuff out of love can teach even cats who should be expired (for a lack of better words) in a matter of weeks while im sure it would have never happend if we like sprayed her with water or something

    You need to free feed kittens because they’re always hungry due to their growth rate. Once they become adults, you can feed twice a day.

  • @fkitty444
    @fkitty4446 ай бұрын

    I have one more to add to the todo's, if a cat is doing good behavior in an overly demonstrative way, it is a PLEASE GIVE ME GOOD KITTY ATTENTION plea, usually followed by one or more attempts for good kitty, before it goes to the behavior they KNOW will get them attention. For cats, they are hungry for attention, and Good Attention is Great, but Bad Attention will do. Ignore at your peril.

  • @OutdoorBengal

  • @OutdoorBengal

    @OutdoorBengal

    2 жыл бұрын

    Cats react to our commands because there's an expectation of a treat. If you never reward a behavior outside a training session, the expectation of a treat outside the training session is non-existant and thus, there's no motivation to comply. My recommendation is to reward intermitently outside sessions. Not always, but sometimes. This will increase the expectation. Intermitent reinforcement is a very strong motivator (think about gambling and casinos) hope this helps!

    Hi! Albert and Mia i need help! My cat is Siamese named Luna and she bites me like crazy!! and i mean crazy, she bites me every time on the face, fingers, hand, arms, ankles, legs etc. and scratch my thighs, whenever she wants to climb up in my desk. There was one time where she gave me a scratch so huge it bled, me being short tempered became so mad that i slap her in the face and tost her (i know i know i didn't want to do it but it hurt a lot) and she sleeps on top of the router or on the side of it you know the wifi router isn't safe to become a bed, so i always grab her using my hand, ofcourse and she bites it, (i grab her to remove her from the router). I'm a new cat owner and Luna came at the start of the year (JAN 1) shes now been staying at our home for 2 montha almost 3 and shes 4 months old. I commented you this like in the middle of the night right now she just bit me a while ago. Like 5 minutes ago because i dont want her being scared or traumatized because of me i want to have a good relationship with her. SO WHERE SHOULD I START TO GET OUR RELATIONSHIP ON POINT. I DONT WANT HER TO HATE ME😩😭😭😭😫 ive also been watching you for sometime now, so as a result i have trained Luna a bit like come when called. THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH IN ADVANCE.HOPING FOR A REPLY😁

    Ok well the problem is not the cat. It is YOU. Cats like slow, calm and confident movements from you. That’s why they don’t like toddlers much , too unpredictable. So u cannot be unpredictable when dealing with your cat. If you’re interacting with the cat from a state of elevated negative emotion, the cat won’t trust you. You can’t be a moody, volatile jerk and expect the cat to be your buddy. Plus u need to provide the cat with ways to have positive energy releases. I know all this cuz I used to be very high strung and locked into my limited perceptions and thought the rest of the world was the problem….but my cats showed me how to calm down and disconnect from the unnatural world. If u realize that it’s YOU who’s acting unnaturally, not the cat, hopefully u can make some progress. Best to you and please don’t EVER act aggressively toward your cat again.

    Honestly that way of aproaching dogs is just as bad. We've just created this idea that dogs should like to be handled by even strangers and especially small dogs don't get a say when getting picked up or pulled around by the leach cause they forgive us and our lack of comunication on their terms
