A BORED Cat is a SAD Cat (Ways to PLAY with Your Cat)

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

You have to play with your cat. If you think you have a lazy or destructive cat? Think Again! Your cat is a killing machine and has to find outlets to release their energy, or else, they grow depressed or destructive. Playing with your cats is the most important yet overlooked bonding activity we can do with them.
The problem I found is that cats want to play on their own terms, but those terms are not always aligned with our free time or work schedule.
Today I'd like to share with you how I taught my bengal cat Mia to play on command!

The Kitty Kaster! I found it on Etsy, and it is a long fishing pole wand with a string and piece of denim at the bottom. She goes WILD for the denim, I never would have thought 😂

Of course the feather wand is always a hit but my cats have always been obsessed with this interactive toy that has a moving toy under some papery cloth. Also, with laser pointers, we love to end with it disappearing on a small toy or piece of food so they have something to catch!

@@kalingrace6289 I bought that round toy from Amazon. My cat runs around trying to catch the mouse tail that often shows up underneath the plastic canopy as it whirls around. One of his fave toys is a small stuffed mouse. I put a few drops of water on it and then roll it in catnip. Finnegan goes nuts and is in his "kitty heaven.". LOL.

I use the fishing poles with cat toys but instead of clipping the toy onto it, I use tape or a binder clip with the worm or feather or mouse or bird, and if they grab a hold of it hard enough, it releases and they get the satisfaction of catching it.

Unfortunately.. I'd love to take my kitty for walks, but she's a 100% inside kitty, and we have 100% outside kitties out there, and my indoor kitty does _not_ like other cats at all. On top of this, she has a lot of allergies and I'm most afraid to take her outside because of those. She sometimes even gets monthly breakouts of itchy bumps and gloomy moods, because of the seasons and weather changing. I'm hopeful the next cat I adopt someday will be able to go on walks with me.

i use foil balls too. If I lose them I just make some more. Though my cat only play with them when his zoomies other wise I throw I have to fetch 🤣… unfortunately most of the time our active time don’t match. He want to play when I work or haven’t ate. After I eat I try to make him play his not interested.

My kitten loses interest in the various wand toy attachments super quickly. When I bring out a new attachment like a feather with a bell, she will love it for a few days, then after that refuse to chase it no matter how much I move it around 😩 I also get really stressed about her interrupting my work! I spend a lot of time each morning picking her up off of counters and shelves she’s not supposed to be on 😂 it’s like when I sit down to work is her cue to start zooming. She usually sleeps all afternoon so that’s when I can finally get in some uninterrupted productive time. Thanks for the cat toy links!! I’m always on the hunt for new toys that might hold her attention. Will be trying out the catnip mice and springs.

When I start a call it's her cue to start zooming. THAT'S WHY THEY ARE CALLED ZOOM MEETINGS! hahaha Regarding your cat getting bored of the toys, try to put them away when you finish playing. It will help keep the novelty for longer!

I have two cats, the female cat is incredibly easier to play with but my male cat is so difficult to get started, usually the only toy that gets his attention is the laser toy but I realized that after awhile we felt frustrated that he never caught the dang thing😂 so I tried your recommendation of changing to a physical toy at the end and this past couple of days he has been more eager to play. Thank you so much❤

Thank you for this great Video. My two ladies play a lot together but as soon as I sit on my computer both Interrupt me. But I think this is more because they want to be near me due to the fact that they are just sleeping and chilling next to me if I wach TV or something like that. Anyway really helpful is to put some toys away for a while. After that these are their favorite toys again after loosing lnterest. I think if they dont go outside a companion does a lot to prevent the play Problem but of course it is always special if mum or dad plays with them. :)

Sometimes I try playing with my cat but she seems sleepy all day or doesn't play. Usually when I'm busy or the middle of the night she will feel very energetic and play. • @OutdoorBengal

Hey man, I understand that you are all for adoption instead of buying. I personally have mixed feelings about having bought a bengal instead of adopting. On the other hand, Bengal cats are by no means an hibrid breed anymore. There are plenty of bengal cats out there and cross breeding is no longer something that's needed to breed a bengal. I left the most important for the end: How about we don't use traditionally anti-gay slurs as insults? It's funny how you step up for cats yet have such low emotional intelligence.
