This is my first FPP piece. I've been afraid to try it and now I know I can do it. You explained it so well. QUESTION: How big is this finished piece supposed to be. Mine is about a 7" square?

Can someone please tell me where to get the patten I want to make these

I found a new technique to paper piece using Freezer paper instead of regular paper. With the freezer paper you iron on your pieces instead of using pins or clue and you fold along the line the same way but, you sew along the fold not on the paper directly. This allows you to use your pattern over and over again. Everything works out the same way and you can use the pattern even after it doesn't iron anymore or use a new one which ever you prefer. Hope you'll give this method a try.

We actually have a tutorial on this method coming out next month! It's a great way to preserve templates and not have to pull the paper off.

could this be done by hand and on a fabric foundation instead of paper?

I've never done it that way, but we don't do lots of hand sewing, so I don't know! If you can hand sew other foundation pieced patterns on fabric I imagine you could.

Once you are inside our subscriber library, you'll just need to click on the image of the scrap flowers and it should download automatically. If it does not, double check to see if you have any pop up blockers enabled that may be stopping it. If it still doesn't work, send us an email directly and we'll get you sorted!

After you submit it, you'll get a confirmation email to say yes too. Once you've confirmed your subscription, you'll automatically get the email with the password and link to our Subscriber Library!
