How to Force Your SUSPECTS to Solve the Crime

Ойын-сауық

A snowbound mystery is a mystery that takes place in a closed location, often with no police around. This means the characters must investigate each other, a situation which inevitably leads to drama.

Great video, Jane! I feel like I'm in a MasterClass with this list series, except it's free :-) And there's so much potential for stimulating new ideas here, especially if I mix-and-match with the previous video list (12 Reasons Why Mystery Sleuths Investigate). There's really no excuse to keep writing the same old, boring and predictable murder mystery anymore. Moana Murder Mystery, anyone? She does sing "How Far I'll Go" in the movie, perhaps she was talking about murder 😀

Oh, my goodness, I am so glad someone appreciated this joke! I was one short on ideas for this video, and my brother suggested zeppelins, and I was like, “YES! Then I can use my Chekhov's Zeppelin joke!”

Jane, you are the only person I know that would have a Chekhov Zeppelin joke already in your arsenal!

Hey Jane, I too created a detective, his name’s Jason McLee, but I have so many different ideas for my first book starring him, can you give me some advice please?

Hi, Luka, sorry for the delay! You've got a lot of options, here are the ones that come to mind immediately: 1) Try and make a plan for the first 3 books, laying out which of your ideas will go into each. Things may change as you're writing your way through them, but at least you'll have a basic plan. 2) See if there are a couple of your ideas that can be brought closer together. For example, if you've got a motorcycle gang and a circus, you might be able to bring those together by having a tough, insular group of stuntmen at the circus who operate as sort of a gang. I hope this helps! At the end of the day, having too many ideas is kind of a good problem to have!
