I've seen videos on changing out the brake fluid and the clutch fluid, but never one on changing out the PS fluid. I think this is the best instructional video ever. Thankyou VOV. Save the Wave 🙋‍♂

I have been watching the C5 videos for over a year, and love seeing the new ones come through! I picked up an '02 EB z last year, and luckily Road America is just down the road. I will tackle this in Spring, then we will see how the 20 y/o does stretching her legs!

Wow. I have not seen a factory plastic PS pulley in almost a decade now. If you ever have to remove the pump, just slap a bar behind that pulley and snap it apart. A - very satisfying. B - less headache reaching the 4 bolt heads (13mm? 15mm? I don't recall) to pull the pump. LS2 steel replacement is maybe $25. As for the RACK.... may the stop leak serve you well. I'd reach out to maybe Rick Kim in MD (RKT) to see who he'd recommend. Not sure if he does it himself, but he will know where to point you. I have had recent poor interactions with Turn One so I cannot say that I would fully recommend them. Probably still a fair bet overall. They are informed and offer guidance, but they have not backed their product or their mistakes (shipped me a pump with the VERY wrong adapter, then tried to tell me I ordered from a Chinese fake.... but here I am with their receipt.) Hey - now that you have the comfy cool whip colored cruiser for la familia.... what's in store for the C5? Suddenly she's going to be easier to picture with #10 of boost strapped on the nose....... Your life will then = Cake + Eating it

I had a leak on my pump and so when I replaced the pump and the 2 lines, that got most of the fluid. The pump will come out under the alternator B/C the bottom hose is plenty long. The bracket has to come off first. Allot of mechanics on KZread wanted to unbolt the rack and pinion to make room...but not needed. Also I used the Lucas synthetic P/S fluid and it worked fine.

If you do this method with the recommended ACDelco PS fluid your rack will feel 100 times better! I have fried a GM PS pump using ATF before. The detergents in ATF will compromise steering components granted both are hydraulic fluids.

Finished the complete flush via your procedures. Worked great. My fluid was nasty brown. I used a rubber cap on the return line. Purchased at O’Reilly’s. It helped reduce the mess. Thanks for the video.

Exactly what I needed, my 2004 z06 is 100% factory, this spring when the car comes out of storage I’m doing all fluids first! Any thoughts on the motul dot4 racing brake fluid? They say that it’s no problem in a dot 3 car. Keep up the great work. Love your c8 too, I’m still over 8-12 months wait here in Toronto Canada

I've heard nothing but good things about motul. I do not see an issue with it. Thanks for watching!!

I went with Motul RBF600 for clutch and brakes and have loved it for years on my daily 99 coupe with upgraded factory brakes (high carbon cryo rotors, street/strip pads). Motul earned my trust. For the 03 Z06 I am switching to Castrol SRF for clutch, and for initial installation I'll use ATE Type 200 while I flush the heck out of the system a few times because it is new at all ends save for the chassis lines.

It looks exactly like my 02 c5 , mine only has 69,000 miles and doesn't leak anything, but I will check the power steering fluid to see if I need to do this, thanks for the video 🙂 mine also looks alot cleaner 😀
