A C8 gives you exotic car looks without exotic car repairs. If you want an exotic car buy a C8. I'm not a C8 fanboy, I would rather have a C7 Z06 but I understand the appeal. I have driven both an own a C5. Edit: "We're gonna keep him" that was hilarious.

Here's #21. If you have kids or pets in the car and you want get out and lock it without the alarm going off you can disable the interior movement sensors. Take the key out of the remote and put it in the drivers door lock. Press the lock button on the remote twice and then immediately lock the door twice with the key, this disables the interior sensors until you unlock the car.

Little over 15,000 miles on mine since I picked it up this year in February and no issues whatsoever and people think I'm crazy for risking to break the car because it's supposedly so "unreliable" according of what they heard Usually what I have to say to them is 1. It's ultimately just a car it's meant to be driven 2. I didn't buy it to just stare at it on my driveway 3. It's not just a nice car to me it is my dream car I was able to fulfill by working my butt off for 3 1/2 years

I have no regrets trading in my C7 for this amazing car! I do miss the manual, but I would do it all over again! I just changed the DCT filter, very easy.. oil was clean.. even broke apart the filter to look at all the inner parts, clean as well with no metal shavings... excellent points, as always!!!

150,000+ were built, and transmission issues you see out there are a very small % of that. Not to mention, go look at the common failures of the PDK on the Porsche Macan, their best selling car.

Someone saying they don't like the C8 Corvette is like saying they don't like cars. Around the turn of the 20th century people said they would not ride in a car, but only a horse and buggy, because a car was the DEBIL! The C8 is America's first supercar and that's something to be proud of. I'm glad it doesn't look like the other Corvettes. People say it doesn't look enough like a Corvette because it does not have round tail lights or pop up headlights. I'm glad my '04 C5 doesn't look like a C1; and the C1 didn't have pop up headlights either, but neither does the C8, so there you go!

Many don't like them because they aren't a corvette. It's a great car and one of my coworkers own one, but it's too far off from the formula to still be a Corvette. It'd be like taking a 911 and making it midengine. The z06 makes things even worse. It should have became the Halo car the Cadillac with their V-series so desperately needs to go with all their motorsports marketing investments they've been doing over the last 14 years.

Had this problem with my wife's '00 Firehawk. Found the spring that works that lifter arm he was pushing on with his thumb and added a saddle tension spring (the really strong ones from inside the back of an electric guitar) alongside the factory one. Has been popping up like a champ for the past 8 years and that hatch is HEAVY. Might be worth a try for the C5.
