Hello there. So .. I have purchased a faulty PS4 pro. The previous owner said the fault was that it did not read discs unless you “tap” the top o the console in a certain place and then it would work fine. I bought it and came home to test it. Sure enough exactly as described. The disc drive wouldn’t even spin until I tapped the top of the console and it worked and I could play it. I purchased a whole new drive from EBay and when it turned up, it looked slightly different and the biggest ribbon cable was slightly too short and there is no “see through” window like on the original drive so am in the process of sending this back. After watching this video I purchased the exact same laser brand new. It’s even in the same box that you have. However, the problem is worse than before after replacing. I don’t have to tap the console anymore except the drive starts to spin and then stops. It does this repeatedly and never spins right up. What did I do wrong? I don’t get it. Any advice would help! I think I have a laser issue, I've taken the console apart multiple times and nothing else seems to be a problem, yet it rarely spins the disk. Especially after watching this and seeing the Pro have my exact issue and easily be resolved, I'm fairly confident that's what it is. But I do not have the balls or technical know-how to go that in depth with my Slim😅

This is the only video I've found that lets me see the parts under the plate and how they are supposed to be sitting. for people that have taken their drive apart and don't remember how those little plastic doodads go in there this is the best I have found so far. It doesn't show every part but it's as close as I've been able to find.

My dad found a ps3 the other day and told me to fix it I took it all apart and it was to do with the disk drive I tested it before putting it back together and now it all works pretty happy with myself I love your videos keep up the good work man love your content it’s amazing 🔥
