By the way, I looked at your video until the end. What I had to do was first do the reset using your procedure. Thereafter, I followed the setup like you but then I continued with the network setup. After the printer was connected to wifi and then I reinstalled the printer head with cartridges. All worked after this. In summary, I think you might wanted to repeat your procedure but go into adding network connection before going to anything else. And then resume with cartridges installation as needed. Just a suggestion. Good luck

The order doesn't really matter. Just doing a partial-reset is fixed.

Great information and it was spot on. Fixed my 8620 in about 3 min.

This reset worked for me after I cleaned the contacts on the print head and replaced all the ink cartridges with the more costly HP brand.

The message of my printer was about the Print Heads. After a "big" reset and then a "small" reset, the message disappeared for a while (and went back after much restarts and fiddling, and connecting through the web admin interface), but still no printing. Anyway, thank you for sharing and the 4*BACK tip for the support menu. But it didn't help me: and looking at other feedback, it might not be completely safe. But well, if we didn't have problems, we wouldn't be here in the first place. Good luck to everyone. To be faire, my printer worked fine for 7 years and 11.000 pages. Not so bad.

Hi, would you know the reason why my printer sounds like it turn on except the power button doesn’t light up and the screen also doesn’t turn on, same printer as the one in your video

this actually made my printer worse. After the reset now the printhead doesn't move at all and I can't get past the damaged cartridge error.

Need help with printer

Didn’t work for me. On the contrary it is now stuck on the screen “printerhead appears to be missing …. Error code: 0xc19a0022” and the printerhead won’t move to the open accessible area anymore…. Situation worst than before. Any advice on how to proceed ?

This procedure kills my printer !!! Very risky and bad in my case! After the reset now the printhead doesn't move at all and I can't get past the damaged cartridge error. Second reset not possible anymore, nothing works now!

Waste of time.

You damaged my printer. Printhead stuck on the right side and you can't do anything. Don't try it

Remove power from the printer for a few minutes and then try again. Ypu are watching this video because your printer is brocken in the first place

I could access the printer, scan, email, fax, i was using it. Now, i can't do anything. Just a message indicating to replace C and Y cartridges. The carriage is stuck on the right side and you cannot move it even by hand. I have to tear apart the printer to get the ink cartridges from inside because they are full and it's a pity to stay inside the printer.

İ tried semi-full reset, reset process started. Then like @bmalik3679 “printerhead appears to be missing ” error came to screen and reset cancelled. The printerhead isnt moving anymore, what can we do now?
