How To Fix Dowager's Hump!

Dowager's Hump is an abnormally excessive convex curvature of the spine as it occurs in the thoracic and sacral regions. Here are some things that one could do to help with Dowager's Hump!
The dowager’s hump can develop in both men and women, but it gets its nickname from the slightly rounded hunch you might see at the base of the neck. Used to be exclusively (and I know this sounds cliche) old women, but not any more. Today, seems like everyone is vulnerable to this condition!
Today we examined Dowagers hump, what is it exactly, what causes it, how to prevent it, what exercises people do for this, and later on in this video, I'm going to go off the rails a bit and show you some of my 'uncommon treatments' that actually work and one of them is downright old!
So, is a dowager's hump a genetic mutation or could it be that we are just complacently adapting to modern technologies? Don't want you to scare or worry you here because I'm going to show you how to ACTIVELY, AND CONSCIOUSLY ADAPT to your lifestyle seamlessly so you don't age well before your time, is that fair enough? This condition, technically called kyphosis, results from chronic forward-leaning, a posture that is too common in our world of computer screens and other rectangular devices. Insidiously over a short period of time, habituation of poor posture can cause you to develop an abnormal curve of the upper vertebrae and a mass of tissue at the lower part of the neck. Does this make sense? Picture this, if I was balancing the weight of a bowling ball straight up, gravity would not have any effect. However, Take a look around. An easy way to notice this is comparing photographs. For example, recently visited an all-boys school in Monaghan town in which this school had photos of all of the graduating classes throughout the years. things look pretty good, (meaning spine's are erect), until the early 2000's. by the the time you see the spines looking like a jungle bent, leaning all over the place, and heads translating forward. I want to share something personal here to drive this message home, I recently found an old picture of my grandparents. Now these folks made it to the mid-to-late 90's. take a look at their posture. do you think that their might be a connection to good posture and longevity? Look at the bio-marker studies on this. Or look at the 10K+ studies associating poor posture to many chronic diseases today, including heart disease, cancer, diabetes, depression, and so forth....So, having Good posture may be the most important component for being healthy.
So as we can easily deduce that POOR POSTURE is the most common cause of a dowager’s hump.
Other possible causes that I should include are: Osteoporosis which generally A compression fracture causes the increased forward curve. could be Congenital problem. this is extremely rare and it is due the spine not forming properly before birth...Scheuermann’s kyphosis. This shows up in teenagers, when the spine develops into a wedge shape instead of a rectangle....However, for most of us it's caused by always being bent forward, putting extra weight pulling on and straining the back. This forward curve is bad for disks and increases the risk of disk problems and neck fatigue. Your muscles are not made for that kind of curve and may also cause upper and lower back pain as well.

I am so tight of the ligaments up the back of the legs to the back. I think this throws out my disk of the lumbars. So I started thinking I have to stretch this but I have to avoid loosening up more the Lumbar week area. So I started focusing on the hips keeping my back straight, and while sitting in a chair and heels on the floor straight out in front of me legs straight, I relax my upper body bending foreword keeping my back straight. I also start doing half sit ups. only using my hips to bend with and keeping back straight. that takes a lot of strength, so I don’t do many of those. After a few days of trying to be consciously aware of where I bend (at the hips), things seem to be a bit better.

I am a grad student/academic and have to sit in front of my laptop all day (and night) even I don't like it :( I really want to have some sitting postures that I can actually practice and keep up all the time. I am trying this thing of keeping my hips higher, but it's hard ( almost impossible so far) to not have my head/upper body stretched forward at the screen, or not to lean back and put my legs up at a side table (lower than the computer desk). I don't know what I can do, maybe I'll try getting a higher desk so the laptop would be more at my eye-levels
