Hey there! You forgot to mention that when you do this, no matter if all plugins are selected or just one in the diagnostics, when the "recovered" project opens up, everything will be deleted from your mixer. Meaning every last plugin you used on an instrument, complex routing, color coordinated groups in the mixer will be lost. This is not good and will take some time to redo if you have a big project with all that going on.

Of the handful of times that I have used the diagnostic tool to solve issues like I described in the video, I’ve never had that problem. It has literally only worked as expected when following the exact steps in the video.

@@Mr_Cru2 yes it’s happened to me. I’m an artist and I use a recording template to record. Whenever I’d open older songs, none of them work. They will load and I see my recordings but I cannot click anything, X out of fl or even close the app at all. I have to restart my computer just to close it but the problem is still the same if I open it back up. So when I found out about this trick I tried it only to find out that my template was gone which meant all of my presets/plugins were gone too from my mixer so I basically saved my song finally but at what cost.

@@zaythekidd9704 everything it deletes is a problem within the project, I had this happen too but I knew what plugin was causing the main crash so I just selected that plugin and deleted it, but it opened up fine and the mixer rack was untouched so I went to open parametric eq, boom crashed, so I opened back up and didn’t touch the eq and made another eq and turned the other one off, I hit play, boom crashed again, pulled it all back up and clicked a different plugin in the mixer rack, boom crashed again lmao sometimes I think whatever plugin that crashes FL studio, leaves a trail of disaster in the mixer rack, I hit delete all the next time and it deleted everything in that plugins mixer channel as well as the other channels it was connected to and it worked fine after

@@melechhaarayot9273 if it’s a third party plugin, check that you have the most recent/updated version of it. A lot of times any kinda bugs you may encounter, have already been fixed by the plugin developers. If that doesn’t work, trying differentiating between the 64 and 32 bit version of the plugin or the regular VST version of the plugin.

If u got a plugin that is causing FL to crash all the time, here are some options: - uninstall and reinstall the plugin - use a different version of the plugin (VST2 or VST or 16bit version) - check the plugin manufacturer for an available update - last resort, just stop using the plugin. Sucks, but I noticed that Reason Rack Plugin would crash my sessions and I just had to stop using it. Eventually there was an update that seemed to have solved the issue but it was several months where where I could not use my $400 plugin

That can happen too. Just keep trying and eventually you should be able to remove the plugins causing the issue.

Also, if possible, try to open the session on another computer, work this method, then save and open up the session again in the original computer

There is a way to check and see which plugins are using up the most amount of CPU. Those are typically good places to start, but if you still don’t find the problematic one, then the tedium of trying it out with every single on is your best option.

@@m6ckm6ckm6ck2 if I’m not mistaken, right clicking on the Memory monitor window located in the toolbar, it will open up a list of all the things in FL that are using up your RAM
