Make a cup of strong coffee, and stir in 5 teaspoons of virgin olive oil. Does not taste as bad as you think!!! You will have a gentle result in 12-36 hours. Be patient. One oily coffee now keeps me regular for three days. This has succeeded when all manner of laxatives have failed in the past. TRY IT!!!!

I have had all the tests and they always come back normal and it is just IBS-C. I suffered to the extreme. Then 3 yrs ago i thought to myself that if you are impacted the doc will remove it manually. Ppl have anal sex. So i tried to dig it out with a glove on and it worked really well and have been doing it ever since. Seems all it is was it just wouldn't come out so all that was needed was to get a little out and the rest would follow. It has been Heaven sent. I call it THE CURE. I am a 76 yr old female.

This might help some of you like it has helped me. 1. I eat 20% fruit, 25% raw vegetables, 35% cooked vegetables and no more than 4 ounces of meat daily. 2. Eliminate white processed flour products and went whole grain (learned to bake my own bread, one loaf per week). 3. No chips of any kind (popcorn once in a while). 4. A glass of pop once per week (usually on Saturday snack night). 5. 32 oz of water daily, 4 oz of prune juice daily 6. Exercise 15 min per day (walking, swimming, gardening etc.) The above has helped me as I now go every day and am losing 1 to 2 pounds a week of excess weight!!!

Warm prune juice is the answer. When I was backed up in Germany once I couldn't find prune juice in the supermarkets. But in the UK it is widely available. Pour a glass of prune juice and put it in the microwave for 20 seconds. Test the temperature with your finger. If necessary, put the glass back in for 10 seconds. Note that the juice should not be hot, and just lukewarm won't work either. Once you think you've hit the right temperature, drink it down in one go. This has an absolutely disgusting taste, but about an hour later you will start to feel like you're ready for the toilet. The effect of just one glass of prune juice can last for several hours, so be prepared to visit the toilet more than once. Especially useful to remember if you decide to go shopping.

The neighbor became constipated, and asked the caretaker to get her some glycerine suppositories, ad they were used in the nursing home, previously. The caretaker refused...and she did this kind of behavior often. I purchased a small bottle of . Vegetarian for 51 years, eating a lot of whole grains, fruit, vegetables. But now and then I get constipated. I learned when I was 21 that part of it is some kind of emotional thing. I remember writing a paper for college. Once I finished writing the paper (not typing it as in the old days you had to do but finishing with the creative part), I would need to run to the bathroom. Whenever my mother or sister would call me, I would have to run to the bathroom. Finishing things can do it. When I need to take something, I like AloeLax with fennel. That always helps.

There are health practitioners that do a procedure called high colonic. It is an effective enema, cleaning out the entire colon. It is done with tubing and tanks so that there is no odor, and they cover you for privacy. A gentle abdominal massage is done , which helps move things along. I get one done every few years, and feel really great afterwards. I always wondered why they didn’t do them in hospitals when patients have constipation post surgery.

You should avoid any straining! By taking castor oil the bowel movement will occur without this one and even after having taken this one for decades you will not have any problems with a habituation or a weakening effect for castor oil works not directly in the intestines by irritating them like all the other laxatives but indirectly by activating or synthesizing certain substances in the human body; 1 tablespoon (15 ml) castor oil taken early in the morning on an empty stomach will be sufficient.

I've also used salt as a laxative. You have to eat a LOT, like a couple of teaspoons at once dissolved in plenty of water. And then wait like 30 minutes or so. It basically gives you diarrhea which moistens/lubricates the stuck poop. Use at your own risk if you have high blood pressure or other conditions that would make it dangerous to eat so much salt. I have the opposite problem (my blood sodium tends to run too low, and my body gets rid of sodium MUCH too fast), so I have to eat a lot of salt to avoid cramps, which is how I inadvertently discovered this trick. Might be a lifesaver since pretty much everyone has salt at home but you might not have another type of laxative on hand, or you might have already run through the ones you do have.

When my baby grand daughter was a baby she was SCREAMING due to constipation. It was horrible to watch. I checked her little body to look for pain and came across a hard poop stuck in her little boodie. I grabbed the part that was sticking put and gently pulled it out the whole thing came out and she immediately was relieved 😌.

I have a bidet that I bought from Amazon. It helps to get rid of the stucked poop. I slowly turn the water on aiming it down there and slowly I will increase the water pressure. It helps a lot and I thought it is much better than the finger. Everybody has their ways but whatever it works that is fine. I stopped eating white rice, white bread. Tamarind juice homemade and I add Monkfruit sugar to sweetened the juice

I'm on prednisone for my autoimmune disorder and found out the painful way that you can get bad constipation. BAD. I felt blocked. Like there was something stuck and no forcing it would help. It got to the point where I'd feel like vomitting and the poop would arrive when I'm at my absolute limit and be like watery diarrhea that would gush around that solid block I'd feel inside me. I went to the gastroenterologist and he gave me gasmotin 3x daily for 2 weeks to re-activate my colon. Thankfully, it did work. Sharing this to others if it may be helpful. Thankfully, I can shit now. I do have scary moments where I feel like (oh god... am I blocked again?), but thankfully more water intake actually works now because that time I was "blocked" water, prune juice, and banana didn't work. It just created more poop stuck in my body that I couldn't expel and it was horrifying. I felt like I was going to implode and felt really really sick.

I have found my bidet toilet seat has been wonderful in helping with constipation. My model has an enema setting, which helps get things started. I had a handyman put a electric plug near the toilet, as the models with enema setting are electric. It's also very soothing on a sore bottom.

If you're from SE Asia like me with some lactose intolerance then cold milk works. Anal douche is very effective for me but I've only needed to use it several times. You can buy an attachment to screw onto the shower hose, be careful not to turn on the water too strongly and test the temperature first. Do not let too much water in each time and it works after a few seconds. Have a bowl ready to avoid messing up the shower floor. As for medication lactulose works gently as stool softener. Some people with chronic constipation have lost the contractility of the bowel muscles so senna might not be so effective.😮

I almost always have constipation when I travel. It's soooooo annoying. Last time it was almost 4 days of struggle, my stomach hurt a lot, I was bloated and unhappy. On day 3rd I tried scooping a bit and it gave some tiny relief. But then again - not the easiest thing to do when traveling and/or outside of comfortable location - your home. I'm jealous of people who are not struggling with this. Because of this issue I always have to plan my trips very carefully and not be away for too long in case situation gets bad.
