How to Fix an Oven Thermal Cut Out
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video Mat shows you how to test and change the thermal cut out on an oven.
To do the repair, get the right thermal cut out for your brand & model on the eSpares website:
www.espares.co.uk/search/pt16...
The thermal cut out acts to prevent your oven from overheating. If the thermal cut out has failed in your cooker you could find that the oven does not come on at all, or that it simply won't heat up. For either of these reasons it would need to be replaced.
Here Mat takes you through the process step by step. See what you need to do to repair your appliance as well as the tools you need and get your cooker working again.

Hi Jennifer, thank you for the comment and remember to like the video.
Does it matter what way the cables go . I done mine and the fan just stayed on ..!
I have a stoves electric double oven which cuts out during use (main fan oven stops and clock goes off) then after about 20mins the clock comes back on and after setting the time the oven is usable again. Does this sound like a faulty thermal cut out?
The indicator light on my oven turns on and goes out when it reaches say 80c, then turning up the oven it comes back on goes out at 120c a minute later, then same same happens going to 200c and 275c but the oven is only around 130c at the most. Is this the thermostat or overheat protection thermostat? Thanks
Hi I bought a GE profile electric range one and a half year ago. Tried to use the oven today but it only preheats to 200 degree before it iwould cut out. I can see the temperature going up from 100 to 200 and then it just stops, as if someone cancelled/stopped the oven. Would that be caused by a faulty thermal cut out of thermostat? Thanks

Hi Steve, it can be either the heating element breaking down or the thermostat not working correctly.
Hi my oven cuts out every 10 mins would the themal cut out be the problem
@eSpares

Hi Stephen, it would not normally be the cut out as the oven would not have overheated in 10 mins, check the element and thermostat first.

Hi May Gintang. Please enter your make and model number onto our website and start your search today: www.espares.co.uk/browse/at1092/cookers-and-hobs
Well, the thermostat connects to a long metallic pipe which goes all the way to gas switch. So where exactly do I check the resistance at? Is it even electrical?

Hi Davids, the video is based on an electric oven, you have mentioned a gas switch so what are you trying to test and on what model?

@@eSpares You should edit the title. It is first result when you search for 'gas oven knob does not stay in'. It is unfair to reveal that kind of information at the end of the video. Gas oven cut off obviously is not electrical. As I learned.
Hi, I have an issue where the element fan and light stop working when the oven hot. Once cooled down they work again. I'm not sure if the element turns off when this happens as the oven is hot at the time. Would this be caused by the thermal cut out? It is an AEG B2100-4-M. Thanks.

Hi robuk360, the cut-out does not control either the fan or the light, check the oven control switch first but test the fan to make sure it is working correctly.
Just stick a knife pushing the knob down and that will get your burger crispy.
