Check to see if the screw heads are visible inside the grill/oven before you remove the oven, as you may be able to change element from the front. Just changed a Hotpoint BD32 2min job.

Very useful, as it is the model I have. Patrick Martin makes a very valid point, though. ALWAYS reiterate the need to isolate the supply. You can't say it often enough.

Hi iv just ordered a heating element thinking that was why my oven wasnt heating up, tbf it probably is the cause but when iv just watched your videos I looked inside my oven and noticed the grill element one of them is bent, what could of caused it to hang further down than the rest of the coils, is this a common thing or have I caught something on it while pulling the shelves out, thanks for reading

I’m not sure if my oven heating element is damaged or the thermostat how can I be sure which one? My guess is that the fan inside not working but lights and control panel does work, I’m guessing it’s the thermostat that preventing the oven from heating up and turning the fan on

Hi, I changed the main element of my oven, and even though now it's working, the oven doesn't heat up like before. It takes longer to cook anything. Could this be because the Grill element is also broken? How can I test this? Thanks!

martinhellawell you unscrew the screws at the side and pull it out. Of course make sure the power is off first.

Not as easy as you say, especially when the grill element is welded at the top clips needing an angle grinder to cut it off!
