Thanks I'm having this exact problem, I was going to boil them but this looks easier. I noticed snails lay eggs too on the rubber while it's floating stopping it from sticking if you don't check.

I use Small magnetic algae scrubbers, I superglue the filter to the inside part. Stays in place perfectly and easy to reposition if needed.

I have the problem that the rubber is getting hard and ik cant find a replacement. I now use standing spons filters.

Thanks for this, I have this issue with several filters! I'd thought of trying the melamine, which I keep on hand for glass cleaning- but someone told me it would scratch the suction cup and make things worse. Sounds like I should have ignored them and tried anyway, I certainly will be trying today!

Seriously though, I save all my suction cups from various tank fixtures I've had and some have flattened out, this is very helpful as I do try to re-use a lot of my hardware, and mounting fixtures do become mishapen over time. Much appreciate this!

Genius!! Good job! Someone once told me i should boil them to make the plastic mallible again.. not a good idea.. most plastics will not revert back to the way they used to be after the waters had its way with them.. also some are rubber and some are plastic. Rubber also doesnt want to go back to being mallible.. maybe it had to be a certain heat.. too much and their history.

I have a issue with my golden back neocaridina shrimps,,,,,i have 15 gallon tank,,a little sponge filter and some hornworts,,,,,i realesed 10 shrimps in my tank,,,,after 2 days i saw them molting. From 2 days after molting they are still hiding and not eating much,,,if you do a qna video in future please tell us something adout my issue.

Like what's your water like.. what type of water you using? How old is your tank.? You have soil? Is it capped? What's your ph at? Gh kh? Etc..etc...

Cool. After a year or two sometimes the rubber cup goes hard and refuses to stick so I just stick it in a cup of warm water after cleaning it and the rubber feels as good as new, you can get extra months out of them before having to replace it.

I found boiling it fix this issue

If your rubbers are too hard, you can also put them in a coffee mug, preferably your partners and pour some boiling water in them.

yes it has a lot of uses, you can use it on plants and to clean drains and stuff like that.

Great!I use mine a lot. I find this to be an excellent product for cleaning the glass on my tank, among other things. I’m going to look for some of this at the hardware store. I’m sure it would be cheaper buying it in bulk.

boil the kettle and put the sution cup in a cup of hot water. Only do this for a few seconds, dont boil it. Then add cold water or let it cool. It will return to it original unflattened shape.

yeah ive tried this with lots of suction cups, the fix for me anyway doing this has always been temporary.
