My father passed away a few years ago. I recently found one of his fishing poles and the anti-reverse did not work due to unhooked spring. Thanks to your video it is fixed. Now I have another wonderful memory of my dad. Thank you.

I have to check my fishing rods , I didn’t know they had anti reverse in them .

*Nice reel so far **enjoyable.fishing** recommend used it for about an hour after getting it from Amazon and functioned flawlessly. Very smooth retrieve and the anti reverse is perfect. Feels like a reel that would be double the price.*

5 years later and this video saved me from buying another reel, thank you.

I actually had another reel I was going to use for the loose bushing example but it had hot glue in it, lol... I was a teenager when I did that... young and naive and no KZread to guide me

I love KZread. It’s videos like this that make it so great. Thanks man. I am terrible at fixing things but I was able to fix my busted reel with this video.

I spent 2 hours to find and fix the problem and I opened KZread I searched and this video came up and In just 5 minutes I fixed my reel the video it was very helpful thanks man

Thank you for responding so quickly I really appreciate you from what you told me I saw the post and I got it done I had to Spring backwards so the real kept spinning both ways now it spins one way the way it's supposed to had a rope tied around the pole and a handle to stop it from moving not anymore thank you very much God bless

OMG you are a life saver!! My problem was the second one.... Thought the reel was just going to be going in the garbage. My local tackle shop wouldn't even help me. My only complaint is that the video was a bit out of focus on the small components part.... so it was hard to see. But it all worked out Thanks!

Very informative video. I was having a anti-reverse button problem on my Rapala Arachnid 5000. Opened it up and I had the two issues! The spring was off the switch and then the silver ring was slipping a bit off the tooth gear so I used a potent glue and it hold quite nicely. Thanks a lot!

Mate, your video was so helpful, I thought I was gonna have to buy a new reel, I pulled it apart and sure enough, that tiny spring had popped off, it was a bit of a pain to get it back on but in less than a 2 mins the reel was fixed… thanks heaps man..

I could use that to hold the spring, perhaps a drop of Super Glue.

Awesome video. Tiny misaligned spring on my switch was causing my anti reverse issue.

I know it’s been a while since ya made the video you saved me from trashing a very nice quantum p t I my wife and kids got me for Father’s Day years ago I sent it to BassPro for repair but they sent it back I used j b weld and it fixed it Thank you.

Just fixed a Quantum with the “no brake” issue using method #2. Great video, thank you!

As an addition to the video, for those who do use JB Weld, after one hour, make sure you scrape off any excess weld that is inside the bearing/gear. It will peel off like rubber cement, and allows the glue to remain just inside the cylinder, and not hunk up the works. Great tutorial, and a pretty easy DIY for saving some $ on sending a reel in for service.

Really handy! Just fixed my Okuma!!! Nearly binned it as it was sooooo annoying!

Thank U. I will try to fix one of my fave Okuma spinning reels tomorrow. Like this reel for pulling spinners as it is pretty fast retrieve and smooth handling. Was very disappointed when the anti-reverse quit working.

It was the spring and the loop was too stretched to be able to hook it around the post.

Thanks I just got my first spinning reel I’ve had other reels but the reverse lock broke and now I can fix it.

So happy I came across this video, today my reel started acting up... Turned out it was problem 1 caused by some line that tangled at one point and pulled the spring off... Less than 5 minutes and its fixed.

thanks. yea i don't have many prob with them but the anti on the back side if the reel i do. I'm fighting with one now it worked i took apart to greese omg they sold me wrong stuff it was so thick. i have to take apart clean the best i could and sprayed lithium grease inside to fix. took a while being i had no cleaner to get old greese out but charcoal lighter fluid it worked with some stuff a guy had for greese. but i got the reverse kinda fixed. it had 3 settings. stop or stops back at the trigger spot or not at all. well only 2 work. I'll try to fix again later. but it's a brim reel i ain't to worried. but good video thanks god bless
