How To Finish a ProMaster Van Conversion Headliner, for Vanlife, overlanding and camping

In all van builds and conversions there are jobs that are simply not planned for. At least in the Van Of Action that’s the case. In looking forward to van life we had planned our van build on a Dodge Ram Promaster frame. We considered the Ford Transit and Mercedes Sprinter van models but concluded the ProMaster was a better platform for us. That’s a separate video. After deciding on the van we spent hours researching other van builds and conversions trying to nail down our layout. We thought we had it. But Covid 19 struck and several things happened. One, the supply chain has been severely disrupted. So many components simply are not available. Everything from Coleman roof top air www.coleman-rv-air-conditione... and Maxair fans or Fantastic fans to 110 watt Renogy Solar panels and 50 Amp DC-DC MPPT charge controllers have been hard to get. Our dometic cooler 90 lt CFX www.dometic.com/en-us/outdoor... took almost a month to source. Also. Having moved to rural British Columbia we wanted to support our local economy as much as possible so we focused on buying van parts as much as we could that was either available or better yet made close by. That meant that while the functionality of the van design would remain constant, the finish conversion materials would drastically change. Also the availability of materials would mean the sequence of the van construction would change as well - example - the temporary ceiling fan installation as we waited for Renogy to deliver. • Temporary Maxair Fan H... or being able to get our windows locally made - • How To Install Windows... … AND there were going to be some van projects that simply were not expected at all. This head liner adjustment is just one of those..

Exactly what I needed in an up-close look at this simple approach. And I know I can trust you because you sound a little like Red Green. 😂

Hey northern neighbor. Newer sub here from the mitten south of the border. Really enjoying and getting a lot out of your videos. Like your can-do attitude and methodology! Waiting for a Ram promoter and going to be doing a build for me and the wife and feel like I am really benefitting from your Promaster pioneering. Thanks!

@@VanOfAction You don't know "the mitten"? LOL Michigan! My dad was born in Montreal and his dad, a mechanic, brought the family to Detroit for the quickly growing automotive work available 100 years ago this year! I really like the way you think and approach tasks and solve challenges.

@TeutonicNordwind LOL I didn't know that !! But in May we got off the Badger in Ludington (lovely little town) and traversed your fine state on the way to Ontario. I appreciate your compliment about how I think - it comes from a lifetime of muddling ....... be well ... Dave
