Hey Doc!… definitely another home run brother… I’m really hoping that this video will become a series… with videos including tutorials on how to draw like these different artists and showing more of how to throw that personal flair into them… helping the audience to become more and more creative with their drawings… maybe some videos on close ups of characters… some videos on drawing full pages… maybe some on drawing with the tablet… or coloring videos… (I know almost all your videos are the things I’m listing but for it to be part of this big series would be epic… and we now return to our regularly scheduled craziness from the Rev!) maybe even taking some requests from the audience for subject matter… could even make it a bit of a contest… having the people who commented be in a drawing for a drawing… (get it?… drawing for a drawing🤪… I think I’m clever… everyone else may not see it that way… but I do) that’d be really cool… that whom ever won the drawing gets a copy (not the original of course) but a copy of the drawing you did as a prize that they can hang on their wall at home… seriously brother I would frame it and it would have a place of honor in my studio (when I build it that is - in the process of trying to build a house right now and when I do I’ll finally get to have my art studio… my new table is still in the box waiting for it😁) but there are so many possibilities and if word of mouth got out on social media that someone could win a copy of the artwork they suggested I know it would bring in a lot of subscribers… but getting back to the original idea of my comment… you could do videos based around these artists like today is Jim lee day… or today is David finch day… and that way when people are making these suggestions… they are making them to see it done in the style of the artist they like… also I wanted to mention that another artist I really look up to is Todd McFarland… and I’d really enjoy learning more about his style of drawing as well… anyway I’m just throwing some ideas out there of stuff that could possibly help get you a bigger following and to show more of the world the amazing work you do… you know I totally believe in you and your artwork brother… we are sending much love and happiness to you and your family… thank you so much for all you do… Rockeday is my favorite day of the week (just saying)… you take care brother and we’ll see you next 🤘🤘🤘Rockeday!!!!🤘🤘🤘😎😎🤜🤛👽👾👽✌️✌️👽👽😎

Martin, this is one of the best videos you’ve released in awhile, so much good stuff in here! You’ve come such a long way in just the few years I’ve followed you, and it’s fun to see your progress/evolution/ journey etc. Breaking down all of these artists and their habits gives us a little peak into how you approach your own art, which is really cool! I’d love to see you take an artist and breakdown the little things you see them do across a number of their drawings, and try to experiment like that. Similar to you Marc sivestri video I suppose 😄 Keep up the great work man! This was a really good one

Thank you for the advice. I really need this as I have been looking for my own style. For my horror fantasy graphic novel, I'm taking inspiration from Junji Ito and Becky Cloonan. Both of them having beautiful, mesmerizing and eerie art styles. Though I also lean a bit into realism since I've been doing doing realistic art since I was younger.

"your piece will suffer from too much black and when there is not enough room for the colors"...that might be a news to Mike Mignola who puts 2/3 of his artwork in black and still looks better than 90% of the artists out there.

Are not you to find your style but it's your style to find you!
Using tips and tricks to find your style is the best way to create something artificial that won't reflect your personality. Take inspiration from artists you like, but don't copy them. Above all, draw inspiration from the world around you and use references (images, videos, live models...). Even with an identical reference, and trying to represent it as faithfully as possible, each person draws it in his or her own way. Your style will come from the way you represent things. Let things happen, it will come in time.
