Funny enough that the longest time that I've been a artist that my art style is pretty much a 90s MegaMan art style.

so guys if you wanna have your own style then there's only one frighin way and that's to learn and study anatomy ,figure drawings , gestures, bit of realism ,, when you master these things I would wan y'all to take real life references poses from Pinterest or wherever or however you can , after you've taken the reference use that as the base point and try to draw it based on your knowledge on the aforementioned things then try to exaggerate those anatomy of the reference, you will notice that now you can draw things in your own style as you draw more of that you'll wanna do that consistently and bam you discovered your artstyle .. at last I'd like to guve tou an example of the Goat Eiichiro Oda , you knoe how he came up with his unique artstyle? as a kid he drew Disney Characters and later as a teen he'd draw more n more from the fashion books and when there's a fashion model show on TV, he'd watch it and wait for the model to pop on the screen and as they are Catwalking Oda would draw them as fast as he could before they were off the screen ... that's how he has honed his skills in drawing.... and yep if you wanna take inspiration from any artists work then that's totally fine but you do need to learn Anatomy, perspective, gesture, figures , understanding if shapes and space and whatever else you can well I took long enough ....but if you read to the end Ig you're damn serious about it good luck guys

so, i've been wanting to do manga style, and not just a particular one, like Masashi Kishimoto or Tite Kubo or Eiichiro Oda or whatever. and i've been drawing seriously for almost 10 years now, and while i can say that i have improved, to me, it's so slow that it's like i'm not improving at all. and plus, my stuff always looks the same. it never has a manga style feel. instead it looks and feels like a 10 year old who just found out what manga is and attempted to do something. so again, i ask: is it normal to have the improvement speed so slow, it's like you're not improving at all? i'm also a traditional artist, not a digital one. :)

That's a good question! I started drawing in manga style at 14 so I've been doing it about 11 years now and I can't say it definitely takes time. I'd say maybe since you are not in particular studying a certain style it's gonna be harder since manga and anime are all inspired by each other! So I'd say if u want to see improvement definitely try to study more styles and I guarantee if u do that for a few months your own style that you are making will improve!!

@@ahedjehad8514 some tips for finding your own style I've heard of that might help is to copy/learn elements of different manga artists you like (for example the male figures of Yusuke Murata, linework of Kohei Horikoshi and faces of Takehiko Inoue) and mixing them together

Background art depends on your style and story! Some artist use real pictures and edit them or trace them and add more to it, or 3d models !! Or handraw them if you study architecture!
