Thank you!!! I was unable to access anything on my Admin account and this video helped me tremendously. Once I was able to create another account I was not able to do anything so went under services under Task Manager and voila! This video was so helpful.

Hi dave got 1 question want to clarify as you have mentioned in windows 10 by default main user account is administrator. So is it mandatory that i have to turned on. The reason i am asking if i don't turned-in the hidden administrator account will i be still able to monitor the activities of the other accounts like family one if i had added my child account so i can put some restrictions like by mistake my child would not be able to access the control panel to avoid any discrepancies like deleting program.

on mine after typing these in cmd it comes up with a message the user name can not be found.

@@seratoneo7276 PowerShell is just a newer version of CMD that is able to do more, but this line of code is a CMD command, it'll work fine. Personally, I prefer CMD over PowerShell due to its legacy nature, I don't need a prompt that can do any more than what CMD does for me.

Built-in administrator can't be truly removed from your Windows 10 system, but can be disabled and hidden.

Dave's Tech Rescue should make another video on how to remove this built in Administrator account!, Period. Activation of the built in Administrator account could lead to the account being locked and users need to find another way to get it unlocked.

You need to run PowerShell as Administrator. Right-click on PowerShell and select 'Run as administrator'.
