I dye a lot of yarn, when I Ombré dye I keep the un dyed yarn out of the bowl and dye in reverse. It’s much easier as I lower the undyed yarn in to the dye rather than keep taking more out at intervals to achieve ombré dying. It’s a much cleaner and easier process. So the first bit goes in then ten mins later a bit more and so on etc. So the first bit has been in there the longest and will have the deepest colour. The it all comes out at once. Much cleaner and easier process.. lovely colours and another nice video to watch. Thank you. And hope your arm is okay.. craft related injuries !!

Yes,of course. That would be the proper way to do the Ombré. It was an after thought while I was doing the video. Lol. I was sore for awhile. Just moved the wrong way. Silly me.

I dyed cotton rope in this video and it was fine. But saying that, some of my rope has a synthetic core. The synthetic core will not dye. If that’s not the case then I’m thinking leave it in the dye bath longer or use more concentrated dye bath solution or the dye bath was not hot enough. Just wondering, is there a reason you need the inside of the rope perfectly coloured as well? Is the outside of the rope a solid colour?

  • @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts

If you are using the Rit dye for T-shirt’s and clothing that are being washed a lot then it will fade. If your doing the rope bowls which are not being washed hardly at all then the color should hold up for a long time. If they are sitting in direct sunlight than you may get some fading.

Translation: Terrible video, nothing new and very long. Lamento que no estuvieras contento con este video. Recibo solicitudes para hacer ciertos videos, así que intente complacer a todos. La mayoría de mis videos están orientados a los detalles, por lo que pueden hacer un video más largo para que un principiante pueda hacerlo. I’m sorry you were not happy with this video. I get requests to do certain videos so try and please everyone. Most of my videos are detailed oriented so that can make for a longer video so a beginner will be able to do it.
