How to draw Trees - part one ‘Pine Trees ‘
Hello
Thank you for visiting the Creative Cove. My name is Michele and I am the creator behind this channel. I love to share ideas, how To’s and hopefully inspiration.
Todays Tutorial is all about coniferous 🌲 trees. I love to draw these trees and all their unique shapes and character. This video will be the first series in “trees”. I hope to do several videos exploring trees from all over the world. Nothing makes me happier then seeing trees in a landscape…. And In my journal!
I hope you enjoy the video. I also hope you give these sketches a try!
Thank you and
Happy Crafting!

TREES!!! YAY! Just saw a video that needs TREES. I do NOT have ANY tree stamps! So now I MUST draw trees! Perfect timing! TFS Austin TX USA
Yes yes yes on the field journal of trees please
Thanks for this cracking tutorial. I never thought I could possibly draw trees and yet I had such fun drawing along, and my favourites were the Eastern white and Western pines with their lovely whimsical silhouettes. Keeping to the xmas tree shapes was definitely more challenging for me. Looking forward to sketching more trees.

Very happy about the trees. Trees are one of my favorite things to draw and Birds. Now I enjoy drawing the fantasy mushrooms and I am planning to incorporate them into my paintings at some point. Thank you for opening up the new little world to me. 🌲🌳🌴🍄🐦🕊🦚🦜😃

i love the eastern white pine. it’s like someone battered by life but still standing proudly and gracefully😊 i hope you consider sketching mango trees. they’re majestic!🎉
You taught this excellently, thank you! I love trees and drawing them is fun. When I moved here to BC from back east, I saw trees that I'd never seen or heard of before (Arbutus tree, Monkey tree, massive Western Red Cedars); I just love it. 😊

Thank you. I love the monkey puzzle tree it’s the most unique tree I have ever seen. They are extremely old trees. I’ve seen the. All over the UK. Those western red Cedars are stunning 😍
Can't wait until I have some free time to try these. I'll be back.

OK. Did the Eastern White Pine tonight. I'm happy with it! I'm planning to draw at least one sketch each day. This is so EXCITING they are coming out so good! IMO anyway! TFS Austin TX USA
Thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this. I want to paint Western White Pines, this helps me understand the structure. Thanks!
Thank you for another great video. I am really starting to enjoy sketching and drawing. I agree with others - you are an excellent instructor. Thanks again
Howdy, wow - after all of these years I have to say you're the best! First time my tree looks like a tree. I'm in love with my fir tree and will be drawing them more. Thank you for sharing your talent and for a very concise tutorial. lovelovelove
bears repeating, how much ii appreciate all you present. Imma in transition...nothing inspires the 'old me' & ii've unsubscribed from so many unproductive areas ii can't fill the voids with anything right now... but... ii can watch & listen & not draw a spec while letting goodness wash over my spirit.
So happy that I found you! I love your woodsy subject matter especially this past month. You work at a very comfortable pace. I think you are a really good instructor, thank you
OK, I'm loving your sketching series!! I finally drew 2 of the trees from this video. And my 2nd one actually looked pretty good! First one I was fighting being so tense. So I did better on #2, and it showed. THANK YOU so much for teaching us!!! TFS Austin TX USA
Really great video and excellent instruction/commentary! The fact that such interesting art can be produced with nothing but a black pen and paper is really encouraging, at least for a non-artist like myself.
Awesome! I would love to think I could draw but haven't convinced myself yet!. You make it look easy enough that I might just give it a shot - trees at least! Since retirement, I've tried a lot of things I never had time for when working so this may be time for me. Thanks for sharing. You're a great teacher.

I absolutely love your tree sketches you’re a very gifted artist and teacher. Many years ago my son and I visited the Cathedral Grove a most revered, majestic and magical location, I have savoured that visit ever since. Another tree I discovered out in B.C. was an Arbutus it does not have bark but an unusual pattern on its trunk. Love your channel and especially you Michelle from one Ontarion to another. ❤️
Boa noite meu girassol 🌻 🌻 🌻 🌻 adorei seu trabalho muito delicado parabéns mil beijinhos 🌻 💋 🌻 💋 🌻
Thanks for this - here in the UK we have a European Larch tree which has cute tiny cones and is a deciduous conifer - which is unusual. It grows new bright lime green needles in spring.
Wonderful work Michele. This wildlife artist lives on a mountain in NE WA state @ 3500'. Our place is called Tamarack Ridge. Behind our home in the canyon are some Tamarack trees that we have named the "Sentinels". they are probably over 300 years old and magnificent!! This species of tree is very fun to draw! Plus, in winter they lose their "needles" because they are not a pine - they are a Larch species :) Folks come up in the fall to SEE the beautiful brilliant yellow of these trees before they drop all their needles. Check them out - you (as an artist) will really appreciate them. Thank you for sharing your talents of drawing pines. Beautiful!!!!!
Pine trees are not native to South Africa but we do have plantations, mainly for paper products. My favourite is the Norfolk Island Pine. My suggestion for you is the acacia tree which is ubiquitous here. I’m having fun learning how to sketch from you. I’m better with a pen/pencil than I am with paint.
You make it look so easy, in all of your quickie sketch videos! ❤ I have a terrible memory and trying to transfer things from memory to paper is a real struggle for me, but you inspired me to practice again! I would love to see some hedgehog quickie sketches, but basically anything because I just love your videos and laid back style of crafting 😊
Love watch you Hugs Bonnie

Fun fact - White pine tree is the state of Maine tree. It has a five needle grouping so if you take a needle grouping you can spell out M-a-I-n-e by using one needle per letter.
