If you're interested in learning to draw, it's a very good idea to start off with some very basic fundamentals. Having a more well rounded understanding of form, shape, values, texture etc will help tremendously when practicing along drawing tutorials such as this one. Doing some simple exercises with more simplified objects will also give your hand some confidence. Making smoother, quicker and more confident marks is the key to making a more convincing drawing

@@billinrio I haven't changed anything and why would I? I was simply trying to say "thank you" for showing an easier way to draw trees. But for some reason, you feel the need to attack someone that's giving you a compliment and saying thanks! Just forget it and PLEASE! LEAVE ME ALONE! and I promise not to bother you with compliments ever again! Oh BTW, if I had changed it in any way, it would say "edit it" beside the statement or reply!!!
I like how you explained the individual steps involved, especially breaking down shading into layers. Thank you!
Love your video tutorials! You manage to break down the processes into clear and manageable portions with amazing results. Much appreciated.
Great video! I love this technique, which is really just seeing the tree as a whole, and not attempting to draw a tree leaf by leaf, even just imaginary trees! Something I sometimes find myself doing---but not anymore! Thanks so much.

I recently was blessed to see a weeping willow tree. the wind was blowing on the sunny yet chill of the fall fall day causing the branches to sway and the wind chimes to chime so happy I was able to capture this beautiful yellow and orange swaying weeping willow tree 🥰
This is like the joys of painting, you see every step and understand it a little bit but you can't get it to look like what instructor has it, and get mad because you're struggling and getting mad at that happy little bush.
I watched this video yesterday, and tried it today. I’m very happy with the outcome of my drawing. I know I still need more practice but this lesson is very helpful. Thank you very much!

Tremendously good tutorial, professionally made and narrated. The idea of breaking up the main tree form into smaller forms, so as to inform the shading and shaping, was a real "lightbulb moment" for me - why did I never think of that?! I am going to be trying that out tomorrow (it's currently midnight here in the U.K. and this is my version of bedtime reading). Thank you for sharing your wisdom and skill it is VERY much appreciated. 😄
Art is a beautiful and magical thing. I've been stuck all day, asking myself the same question "What should I draw?". This video inspired me to even start on simple things, not some fancy castles or huge detailed animals. How long did the first tree take to make?

I was still trying to keep up with the new things so I was getting low scores and keep doing things that I shouldnt. But then SHE (THE DEMONIC CREATURE THAT ASCENDED TO THE SURFACE ) keeps on pressuring me. Like that time when I was absent she spent the whole hour to question me. Even if I tell the reason she wants me to hand over an excuse letter signed by my parents. And if I dont she will leave me standing there. And bruh when I get low scores she asks me to stand up and ask why with an intimidating pressure and lots of other stuff. And if that doesnt look evil, ima tell you that she only do that to ME AND NO OTHER. AND I WAS STILL GRADE 3 BACK THEN. HERE IN HIGH SCHOOL THEY WONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT UR SCORE OR PRESENCE IN CLASS FFF UUUUU
