In this tutorial I show you step by step how to draw a pine tree, specifically a spruce tree. When drawing trees it is often helpful to lightly draw in the underlying trunk and branch structure prior to drawing in the leaves or foliage. As you see in this drawing the foliage is suggested not by drawing individual leaves but suggesting the overall shapes and clumps that they make as seen from a distance. By drawing in a branch or trunk here and there peeking between the foliage the tree is given som solidity and structure and the mind's eye takes it from there to visualize the whole tree and its details.
