Olivia! Thank you for watching!😊🎨 I like using a dark base. And I use sandpaper, granularity 1000, which I buy in the building store. You can use sandpaper or buy pastel paper, toned. The white base is not a good idea for pastels, especially in this video lesson.

Krishnam, of course, you can use oil pastels to paint this picture, but these are two different techniques. And soft pastel techniques don't work with oil pastels.

Paul, Here are the numbers of the pastel "Koh-i-noor" that are used in this video: white, black, 8500/27, 8500/26, 8500/07, 8500/42, 8500/31, 8500/37, 8500/09, 8500/33.

Karin, I use fine-grained sandpaper 1000 - 1200, it does not take a lot of pastels.

For soft pastels, it is best to use a textured surface that is not smooth. So that the pastel can linger on the sheet. Plain office paper will not work.

Картины красивые, техника тяжёлая, к тому же ногти на полэкрана. Как вы с ними пастель держите трудно представить. Для обучающих видео можно и попроще найти варианты рисования. Хотя может это ваша особенность
