I’ve watched every tutorial on youtube ...you are the best! I’m so excited to try and you show us the colors you use! Are you using an easel? I like working on a flat surface better but was taught it’s not healthy? Xoxoxoxoxo

Adele! Thank you very much! When I shoot a video, I draw on a flat surface, since the camera on the tripod is on the table. I have an easel, and, of course, it is very convenient to draw on it. During drawing, you need to move a little distance and look at the image from afar to see it as a whole.😊🎨

Hi Katya, this is my next project, I’m so pleased I managed to get hold of the 120 set quite a lot cheaper than my 60 set cost a few months ago, now I can match your colours more accurately, especially the lighter tones of which I didn’t have many . Your work is such an inspiration to me and I really appreciate all your hard work putting these tutorials on here to help us thsnkyou so much

Which set of derwent pastel pencils do you have, and so I really need them, I have difficulty sharpening them because of arthritis in my hands. I have a few light ones for Drawing the outline

Pastel pencils are certainly convenient for drawing thin details, but you can do without them. Also, I use White pastel pencil and charcoal black pencil.

I often draw from memory or use my Imagination. Beautiful as always. I'm actually enjoying the different techniques that you use per project. I have a question though. What paper do you use for these projects and what type of pencils are you using for fine areas?

Nice drawings.. what should I do to preserve my paintings in soft pastel.. if I want to frame it??? I use mungyo

Many thanks!😊🎨 I do not use fixatives for my work. I either make out the frame, the Passepartout and under the glass. Or I simply shift every work by tracing paper. Some artists use fixatives. But there is a minus, it darkens the shades by several tonnes.

When I go to the baguette workshop, I put my work into the clip frame. It's just a glass with a mount and a back plate. Very comfortable!

Can I try this on a white sheet ?

I use ordinary sandpaper, granularity 1000, size 23x28 cm. Black or dark gray. I buy in a hardware store. If possible, try painting on sandpaper, or toned paper. Not white!

Натали, продают бумагу для пастели, она с фактурой или с абразивным слоев, чтобы пастельные слои держались. На гладкой обыкновенной бумаге пастель не задержится. Так же в строительном магазине можно купить наждачную бумагу (водостойкую, мелкозернистую) зернистость от 600 до 1500. На обороте наждачки обычно написаны цифры. Чем выше значение, тем меньше зерно. Мне удобно рисовать на 1000. И пальцами растушевать не больно и слои пастели держат. Стоит в разы меньше, чем спец. бумага.
