dude, i have been drawing my entire life in all styles and subjects from tattoos, architecture and comics/anime and still use videos just like your for reference and review when i find myself stuck on a piece or maybe i just need a good warm up exercise. Its just a lot of fun to watch or even just listen to in the background.

I started out with drawing anime like DBZ and other extremely stylized anime that required fundamentals to actually get right. So now I’m working on proportions, Gestures, facial features, and rendering. Because to me the best way to make your art look good enough that other people who don’t know how to draw will like it, is to have natural and human facial expressions and decent enough shading and exposure that a human brain can see depth

Thank you for this video and all your others too! I draw realism mostly and I am still working on it. That said, when I started my drawings were terrible and learning basic proportions etc. was very, very helpful. Regarding drawing realism vs. a cartoon, I actually find that I learn as much from a cartoon tutorial because a cartoon (a good cartoon) communicates the important information while neglecting the less important details. Sketching cartoons is great practice for me. Sometimes I think the key to progression is to practice and enjoy the journey.
