Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Been working on this video for a while. Self-drafting is not an exact science, but I walk you through my process. I also include a McCall pattern you can buy if you don't want to self-draft!

    Appreciate your energy! It's always more fun for me to learn from a fun teacher, and I love that you reflect on where you would change/improve some of your pieces. Also the pull-over came out really fly! Thanks for helping to make sewing more accessible (and less intimidating) :)

    I learn so much from you, every time there is a new clip, I am happy. It's so nice that a young man can teach an old man (and your beautiful sexy smile helps too, to be honest). I used to make a lot of shirts from old curtains, old dresses and old cloths, in the time of (vanilla)punk/alternative 1980/90, and never sewed nothing more after that time. But since I discovered your channel, I have become completely inspired again. Making patterns in particular is something I never dared (I always bought ready-made and changed something, to make it my own). By the way, it is your enthusiasm, daring and just doing, which is so educational, inspiring, and fun. Whether you are young or old, there is always a world of possibilities open to/for you, you only have to see it or someone like you shows it (again).

    Your videos are amazing! Your sense of style and the looks you make are incredible! As a novice sewer, your “How to Draft: Pattern” videos are very helpful especially when wanting to make clothes that fit my body. Do you intend on making more how to draft up your own pattern videos??

    I noticed you often connect your front bodice and back bodice and lay your sleeve in flat. I haven’t done a sleeve like that in years. Usually I do a set in sleeve as last step. but this makes me want to lay flat for a change lol such a cute sweater. The front pocket shape is super interesting

    Thank you for doing it in real time. I was about to buy a sweater but I’m pretty particular about my sweater. And couldn’t find a sweater with the material I liked with my style. But this video makes pattern making more straightforward and not so intimidating. I can’t wait to try it this weekend!

    I love the pattern drafting method in this, it's so straightforward. My only thing is -- you can't just copy the front pattern and use it for the back since the armholes on the back of a shirt are lower than the ones on the front. Right? That's why it's tight and puckers where the sleeve attaches in the back.

  • @kittybrowning

    @kittybrowning

    It's not that it's lower the back shoulder but is ment to be higher by around half and inch so they are at the Same point where the bottom of the arm hole is but the shoulder for the back piece is higher this creates more space. Round the back

    I'm here for the pattern drafting. I just watched a great vid on drafting from scratch, but it was a girl making a fitted top, so I was wondering what extra allowances I should be making for a looser fit on me. I hate most off-the-peg men's clothes, so I need to draft my own patterns. Thank you so much!

    You can use your regular straight ruler to add seam allowances to curves… you just got to move it a lot like doing dashes then connect them.
