I'm catching up watching some of your videos I missed. The last 10 minutes of this one show the level of intensity you put into the care of your worms and I was - just wow... You showed that you go in your nursery bins every 3 days and by hand pull out the worms that went from being juveniles into adults Do you still follow that same practice? I can't imagine with as many worms as you have how you have time for anything else oh my goodness. Everything was so amazing in this video. The only thing missing from your worm facility, is a bed for you to nap in LOL 👍👍👍. The rate at which the worms multiplied was amazing and I am still so impressed with the quality of the castings. Every time I watch your videos it reinforces my need to get some sort of motorized sifter. As always, a great video.

Sorry for the late response, as you know I had some trouble to take care at the warehouse, took 2 days but finally we clean everything. . I used to.do this at the beginning, now is impossible but I have a better protocol. The 3 weeks cycle prevent (almost) that cocoons hatches in the reproduction bin and in this way I have always and only adults and cocoons in the reproduction bins. I am making a video on my nursery that are almost ready to be harvested and I will show you how I organize everything

I don't use the one I do in my backyard because I do not want unwanted bugs, the wormery is indoor and I do not want any bugs outbreak. I buy from a local garden center that they produce themself

I wonder if you could seperate the cocoons from the cocoon bin by gravity/weight? If you had a full bin and shake it, would they stay on top?

Is the sifter you are using fine enough to separate bugs like rollie pollies and millipedes from the castings?

Yes it is. The sifter have 2 different holes sizes, one is 1/16 for the casting and the other one is just to let the cocoons pass through. Eventually any bug will fall. in the final holes with all the worms

Do you ever use the Coconut Coir? Wondering about the differences since the Coir is able to replenish but peat is limited?

Coco coir is hard to break down and do not have a lot of nutrients, the result is a gross casting and is not really suggested. The fact that the peat is limited is a urban legend, especially the Canadian one. There are so much peat that the one used and selled is a very small fraction of the one that grow and reproduce.

Outside beds are perfect If the weather where you live is warm, here where I live winter is very cold. Feed kitchen scraps, manure, compost and your worms will grow happy

Home depot have 2 sizes, those are the smallest ones. Ig I remember well they are 30x20. They cost $7.40 each

First thing for a fluffy casting is the bedding, the base of my reproduction bins is peat moss. Is not exactly dry, is with the perfect moisture and this because I feed only my worm chow, in this way I can control the moisture

I have a question for you, and hope i will get the right answer, how many days needed for one bin to haven't the casting from day 0

unfortunately there is not one answer that fits all the different set up. Depends of your bedding, worms' quantity, foodstock, and other differents variable. Reproduction bins with fast decomposing materials as bedding, and feed only with worm chow, have 3-4 weeks turnaround. Big bins with slow decomposing materials as leaves, wood chip and coco coir, can take longer, 2/3 months. You need to learn to "read" your bin and check when is the right moment.

why do you take out the adults? If they don't reach adulthood, they will breed and lay more cocoons?

You want to separate adults from juveniles and babies because they go in competition for food, you want to set up trays with only adults and keep the youngest ones in a different trays and when they reach adulthood move to a reproduction, only adults, trays. It's a cycle
