WELCOME!!
My name is Gaetano and I am CEO and Founder of www.northeastworms.com/
I started in 2019 with 2 pounds of Red Wigglers to produce my own vermicompost for my little backyard's garden and in less then 2 years I have my own basement full of worms from all species. I started to sell worms and compost to my friends and neighbor and after I saw that people want to recycle, and the request for worms and compost was pretty high, I founded www.northeastworms.com/.

Wondering how you like this compared to your Shifter
I actually sold the shifter. The trommel is completely a different planet if you go commercial and have serious quantity to sift
Need an interpretor
wow! What an interesting method! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching
Been watching a few worm composting channels in the last 12 months or so, and only nw tonight got this video suggested! And I must say, you've got the most funny accent of all. 😂😅 Great information, too! Thank you mate! Where are you originally from though, if I may ask? Only out of curiousity. :) Cheers keep up the good work! 👍💪
Thanks for watching 😀 I am italian. Living in usa since 2013
@northeastworms oh great! Amichezze da un Francese 🇫🇷 nella Svizzera 🇨🇭 (sorry my Italian is rubbish lol) Looking forward to your next videos 👏
Since U have a mixer, why not mix the wet veggies with dry leafs and then dump everything in the reactor? It can save you time and less messy
Because you want to do layers
This is good to know. I was worried the enzyme (bromelin) in the pineapple would dissolve the worm from the inside-out
Absolutely not
Thank you for showing me how to do this. I have had worms for about 5 years and have just learned this method. Ugh!! So frustrating.
Glad to help
I have the 1/8th sifter, the exact one you have there in the video and it doesn't catch the cocoons. What size screen is perfect for catching the cocoons? Because I have ordered like 5 already from ebay and Amazon and the sellers are lying about the screen size. So it's set me back quite alot. Can I get just a simple answer on what screen size will catch the cocoons but sift the Castings ?
1/8 is the perfect size. We use 1/8 also on our big commercial trommel. Sometimes, some smaller cocoons can pass through, but 99% will be catches
Thanks for the video. I've got a cordyceps spent mushroom substrate which is mainly mycelium and brown rice and just wondering for any hints/tips to feed my compost worms. Did you try and have a success with particular this type of substrate? Any help much appreciated! THANK YOU!
The one you have works perfectly. It will take a little time for the worms to eat because it is not perfectly composted, but it will add a lot of fungi to your bedding and final product. Just try to broke down as fine as possible
@@northeastworms Thanks a lot for advice! I really appreciate it. Also, I came with an idea to inoculate it using EM1 to start the process of decomposing the brown rice which might help to make the brown rice softer for the worms!
The timing for this is great! It reminded me that I found a local mushroom grower a few months back and I needed to touch base with them again. They sell a tractor scoop full for next to nothing! It’s time to schedule a pick up! If it works as well as I hope I’ll have my husband pick up a truck load to use that along with my other bedding materials. At the price it will help keep the worm bedding cost low, actually a little lower than it is now. I just ordered a large feed mill/grinder similar to the one you showed in a recent video and guess it will make quick work of breaking up the substrate as well as the other bedding materials. Can’t wait for it to arrive and to get the new bedding going. Thanks for sharing all you do. Your videos are awesome!
Thank you very much for watching this
I love this haha. I had to rewind it three times. I love accents. When you said they are just sheet of cardboard it sounded like you said they are just shit of cardboard haha.
🤣🤣
I love this!!!!
Thank you, please let me know if you have any questions
@@northeastworms it's not in my budget but I hope that will change some day. I'm disabled on a fixed income and I hope to supplement my income with the worms.
I just found this morning and I have already learned a lot from you! I really appreciate you!
Thank you very much for watching
I have a couple this size and I was sure they were ENC! lol… the rest are about 3cm… hahaha
What is the list of ingredients in your mix 🤔
At what percentage do you use the SMS? Could I use 100% sms and food scraps in my worm bin?
I use what I have , I don't have a precise percentage. I suggest adding a good percentage of carbon sources
Just starting out worm breading myself for bait worms, so I am looking at lots of videos on this subject. Thanks for the information
Thanks for watching

I’m in West Palm Beach Florida. Where are you located?
Rochester ny
Oh my goodness I really enjoyed your video. Your hands are so fast it’s a good thing you don’t work at the casino I would be broke.
😆 thanks for watching
Nice looking tool.
Thanks
I am grinding up my chicken bones and adding to my buns the worms seen to be fine
Yes, grinding is a good idea, the worms can eat faster
My Man!! You're looking great, Gaetano!! Nice piece of equipment, looks well built. Hope you have a great Christmas!! Cheers 🌱🤞👍🎄
Merry Christmas to you too
I made something nearly identical for a fraction of the price. This does not replace or reduce hand motion which is what many people need
Wait about 1-2 months. My commercial version for home use will be ready for unveiling. At a very reasonably price.
@hydroponic_house is very nice. Please tag me when you are ready to commercialize it
@@hydroponic_house is it available yet?
Where can I find the commercial sifter for home use?
Went to the website over 300 bucks for the complete kit waayyyy to expensive. It seems that anything to do with cannabis the eye gougers are looking to blind you with the price. Sad
Unfortunately, the industrial processes are very expensive. Thos product is made in the USA and is all stainless steel. The wheels are molded and created in a way that they will never fail. This is a piece of equipment not only for "cannabis" but for a wide range of uses, which is a "problem solving" for all the sifting problems. It is made to last forever. There are a lot to consider when we need to calculate a price for equipment. I know it is not "cheap," but you need to consider this equipment like a "top of the gamma" and unique for the use. I showed in the video a cheap, plastic made sifter. The plastic one costs half, but you pay for what you get. Please let me know if you have any questions. My email is [email protected], and my personal cell phone is 585 397 4346
Looks well built and built to last. Great work😊
Glad you like it!
Looks great and easy to use 🇳🇿🪱
Yes, I absolutely love the Turbosift It resolved the problem to harvest worms when I have small local orders of worms to prepare quickly
Welcome back. Missed your smile. This looks like a great product...what's the website to look at the product
@tammybrazeau1213 Thank you very much 😊 you can find the product on our website www.northeastworms.com/equipments
Cool, all you need to do is buy a shredder! I'm truly amazed, why didn't I think of that!
Easy peasy 😀
12:40 A 2x4 lumber is actually 1-1/2x 3-1/2
how does it compare to the vibrating models
For large quantity, the trommel is definitely faster and more precise
Hello, can this be given for silkworms as well?
I don't know, I never grow mealworms
I've only ever used dried up leaves shredded with a weed whacker in a garbage can. The leaves as opposed to cardboard have minerals bacteria and fungi that produce far better castings. The shredded leaves with a little dirt and or compost are better food for the worms. You'd be better off using cardboard along with your food scraps and the leaves as bedding. The leaves are actual worm food to begin with and have microbial life on them. Cardboard is plain and sterile so nothing beneficial going into the worms.
I use leaves, too, of course. Being a commercial farm, I need a lot of carbon and leaves are not always available
Or…..gather up dry leaves and have at it.
Thank you very much for watching. I will try to add Hebrew tomorrow when I am at pc
With so much mycelium you might get a flush or two of mushrooms as well.
I always have a bunch of delicious mushrooms 🍄 😋
Good job. Thank you
Thanks for watching
Whatever size of the worms, a pound will be 2 cups. 8 lbs should be 16 cups of worms or a gallon. May be less intil rehydrated. No one counts worms and they know you won't either. Always buy by weight. When sorted and rehydrated, you can check the weight you recieve. A fine three or four inch paint brash helps in sorting moving worms.
Need a brush roll on top
New worm person here great info!
Thanks for stopping over
Love the videos. Great products. I’m starting to move my lawn business to worms and organic fertilizer and wanna do the local farm markets. Your video proved I have the right idea
Good luck with your new business
