How to do Vipreet Swas or Breath of Fire

Vipreet swas AKA Breath of Fire or Rapid breathing is practiced to improve focus and concentration. It is also an important pranayama to enhance our meditation practice. In this practice we breathe on a rapid speed of 3-5 times per second. In this video I will show some important things that you need to be aware of while practicing vipreet swas.

Complete your 40 days mandala you will automatically do it correctly at 40th day. Initially you will not be able to do it perfectly as she is saying complete your mandala you will automatically notice the difference. I complete my mandala now I can do exactly how she is performing. so no worries keep practicing.

Viprita Shwasa is supposed to happen at the tip of your nose only, your breath should flutter just at the tip if your nose (not abdomen or chest). But if it isn't happening, don't worry, keep practicing. I'm doing Shambhavi Mahamudra for a while now but still Viprita Shwasa doesn't happen properly. I hope it goes right .

You don't really have to put it in a sequence. It can be done by itself. But if you are practicing all four pranayamas everyday then after would be good. As this will easily take you towards the meditative state and you can meditate better after this.

Try to keep it to the tip of the nose. Initially you will feel it in abdomen, then after practicing few months, you will start feeling it in chest. Then after some more practice you will get it on the tip of the nose. Practice is the key.

Hello! My nose is constantly blocked, how can I practise this? Also when I flutter my breath, I become hypoxic. Why is it so?

Sometimes when we flutter we unconsciously start exhaling only, when that happens body starts lacking oxygen and hypoxia occurs. Make sure when you flutter you are inhaling in one flutter and exhaling in the next.

Does the air go to stomach? Sometimes I feel like I am breathing like in pranayaam.

Not really. Air should stay superficial. It is hard to do it initially. It will take a lot of practice. Keep trying.

Nothing wrong with you, it is a difficult practice and it takes months to get it right. Just be patient and keep trying.
