Cute, love the spring colors! I love the pour over method for 2 reasons: thinner dip layers and I don't get dip powder stuck under the free edge of my nails. LOL

How long did you cure each of the design lines? Full 60 seconds or shorter?
Love these!! 😍 How would you proceed if you were using dip top coat instead? Would you do the second activator before or after the gel design?

So I haven’t tried dip powder on gel 🧐 I’m not sure if that would work! If I’m using a gel polish then I top with gel top coat. If you want to skip gel, another option would be to use nail polish for art and then top with nail polish top coat 🫶🏻
What is a substitute for the natural powder?

Hey Amanda! Gel likes a rough surface so sometimes if we buff the nail too smooth it makes the gel peel off. You could try to rough up the dip powder nail before doing gel. If you’re already doing that or try it and it’s still not enough, you can totally do a layer of gel base on the dip powder (full cure). Then do your gel designs! No wrong answer, whatever works best for you is always the best! 🙌🏼💖
Did you only have to cure bec they were gel polish for the design? What if u did a design with regular polish, do you still need to cure that?
Can I use regular polish, self adhesive stickers/tape/rhinestone over dip polish? would I put them on after the activator step and then finish with the dip top coat liquid?

Yes absolutely! I love adding stickers and things on top! And you are correct, add them after filing/shaping. So if you want to continue with dip liquids, the dip top coat needs the second activator to properly cure. I usually like to apply the sticker and then do a gel top coat on top. It’s going to depend on the sticker if it will tolerate activator. You can try doing the sticker, then activator, then dip top coat twice as usual. I know others who do sticker, then dip base + clear dip powder, then activator and top coat. The clear dip powder will help encapsulate it so it’s protected more. Totally up to you! 🫶🏻

Do you find that the gel polish/top coat peels off? I got nail art on top of dip powder at a salon and they pretty much followed the same steps you did but it all started to peel away from the dip powder after a few days.

🫣 oh nooo!! It can definitely be done with gel polish + gel top coat on dip powder. Hopefully they’ll try for you next time!
I tried doing a design but it just smeared instead of going on smoothly when I did a line. I tho I should do top coat then try it but I see u did it the way I did. Why is it not working for me

So sorry to hear it smeared 🫶🏻 for gel art on dip powder, after I do the file/shape then I - cleanse with rubbing alcohol - gel art (cure 60 sec) - gel top coat (cure 60 sec) Hope this helps! 💖 please let me know if I misunderstood

No it didn’t 🫶🏻 if gel is peeling/chipping on dip powder I would suggest skipping the buffing block and using a 180 grit. Then after cleaning with rubbing alcohol do a layer of gel base and cure 60 sec. Then do the gel art and/or gel top coat. The gel base will help give the art and top coat something to grab onto 🥰
