Thank you so much! This must be the most clearly explained, straight to the point, well filmed educational video I've seen in a long time. Exactly what we all need. 💕

It's true, thanks 😊
Short, sweet, and to the point; exactly how I like a tutorial to be. Normally I use a machine zig-zag stitch to prep my Aida, but since SOMEone ::gives Mr O the side-eye:: completely buried the sewing table in clothes & boxes, I decided to give blanket stitch a try. Your instructions were so clear & easy to follow, I only had to watch it once to get the hang of it. Incidentally, I also learned that blanket stitch is a great way to discover just how crookedly one has cut their Aida, LOL! The bottom of my stitching is perfectly level but the top looks like a mountain range between one and four stitches high, yipes! Thank you for posting such a great tutorial.

Glad it was helpful.
thank you this was super helpful!
This is exactly what I needed to know. Just finished a cross stitch bookmark and I want to secure the edge in a decorative way so this is perfect. Thanks so much for the tutorial :)
I just needed a reminder so this was great. I was trying to do it the left handed way with my right hand, but I think that's how my grandma taught me because she was left handed 😁

That would be a muddle! Glad it was helpful.
So many videos I have watched haven't made sense. Thank you for making this video!!
Thx! Just picked up an old NZ Made wool blanket...and need to redo the edge! Super appreciate you sharing your knowledge! 🧡
I finally get it. I always had trouble with the first stitch . It was always wonky . 🙏 thank you Tallahassee Florida 🌴

So glad, thank you Tallahassee!
I noticed that you never make knots at the end of the thread before you start stitching. I always have problem of making a big knot by making several single knots one over another because it never lands on the first knot I made. This is something new I learned from watching you hand stitch. Thank you for sharing your videos.

That is right. It is much easier not to knot, never do it! Best wishes with your sewing.
This is exactly what I needed, very clear and helpful tutorial. Thank you for posting!

Thank you so much 😊 I’m starting a 50cm design on 14 count Aida and I hate using masking tape 😩 this is exactly what I needed to learn and so simple to do (gonna take me a bit of time on a 50cm piece of Aida but it will definitely be worth it in the long run) x

Note: I heard this stitch is brilliant to stop the edges of Aida from fraying 😅

Oh Good, glad it was helpful and I'm sure you'll do a good job on the Aida.
Very helpful, but what about navigating corners?

A very good question and it is tricky. tend to either leave it blank, especially on Binca style fabric, or to a stitch at 45 degrees on woven firmer fabric, do a 45 degree corner stitch and a sneaky stitch to catch the fabric so it stay in position. Should I put the on the video to do list?
Thank you!
what kind of thread you use in this video?
Wats the name of that thread? Can i get it online?

Hello. I've checked and I used some knitting yarn that was partly silk, which is why it shines. I'd knitted a hat! It is great for embellishment too and comes in bright colours. I'll see if I can get the name.
