    Excellent video, brother. I had bought a kit but didn’t know how everything went together and how to properly install it. I’m still trying to figure out how to turn off the check engine light though. Maybe a new tune would be able to turn it off, not sure, still doing some due diligence on the matter.     I have a theory im going to test on tricking the computer without a tune. I know Bama wont disable the EGR even if its for offroad use. And anytime, thank you for the feedback, it means a lot

    Ah ok. That’s good to know. Just have to figure out how to make the computer think there’s still flow through the egr somehow. I’ve seen others with an SCT handheld that gives the option to turn the egr off or on. That’s the only way I’ve seen. Still researching though. Thanks for the update! Looking forward to what you find out!

    My old sct tuner gave me that option, I still have it so I might tinker around with that. My new sct doesn’t allow me to do it but I need the new one for datalogging and live data feed.

    Anything partnered with Bama (sct/bullydog) no longer allows you to turn off egr or O2 sensors. Guess the epa jumped on those guys about emissions 🤷. Still looking for a way to turn it off myself

    @@trentcaldwell1 Only way to turn off the CEL is a custom tune. I got mine from HPP in Garland Tx and will be deleting my EGR soon since this is the last year of inspections for Texas. I emailed them and they will email me a tune file with the EGR delete.

    I started to delete my egr on my 2003 mustang. The only part left is i have to take the wheel off and take the egr pipe off and cap it then I’m Done, going to try that today

    Soak the everliving s*** out of the nut that connects to the manifold with pb blaster or liquid wrench unless your lucky like me and it comes loose easily. Other than that its fairly easy

    Very good info ....imma see if my brother will dp this to my 01 ford mustang but i have this to show u ....it was when my heater went out ...on the back wall panel on my mustang like for example you are standing in front of ur mustang ok look to the left but go all the way to the wall you will see the its not the heater hose .....but it does have to do with the heater ok long story short ...i have 2 of the metal oddy shape that supposedly pop off ..well my brother was trying to replace a hose on the back but his hand didnt fit so ...i put my hand but my brother said well he thinks i pop it off and no ...bc my hand didnt go towards the middle my hand wason the lwfr

    is the bbk 78 throttle body/ plenum supposed to be blocked off with a second brass plumbing part where the top part of manifold tube was? Or did it connect to egr part that is removed and not needed leaving only the one that goes to exhaust manifold to be plugged? I cant see behind the bbk/tb so cant see where it was originally connected.

    You only need 1 for the manifold, that tube connected to the EGR itself but I removed the whole thing. If you wanted to keep the EGR on there then you’ll need a brass cap. Engine bay looks cleaner without the EGR

    The wheel trick doesn't work if you already have long tubes, i just snipped the hose and filled it with high temp jb weld

    I have an 04 GT with 55k miles on it. It has bbk long tube header, xpipe, and I bought a new Bbk intake instead of the old Mac one. What's it like with the bbk throttle body? I've looked into underdrive pulleys, etc, etc. 3k+ for a supercharger is out of my range, but I've always wanted to convert it to an S281, like the same parts.

    The BBK throttle body is a night and day difference compared to stock, I love it, haven’t had any issues with it. I’ve been thinking about boosting my mustang I’m just unsure of what route to take

    It’ll send a check engine lift if you remove the two sensors but if you keep it and cap off the vacuum lines it’ll be fine and won’t send a light

    On there there’s two different nuts to put a wrench on, don’t loosen up the bottom one, that’s the actual threads on the manifold, just do the top one

    it shouldn't hurt how your car runs with a egr delete lol all a egr valve does is recirculate exhaust gases and has the motor reburn them again through the intake manifold from the exhaust manifold. they actually hurt cars in a way in my opinion. causing more carbon build up

    Too bad I live in an emission state. My mustang sounds better with a cat though, might need a high flow cat. The mechanic put a universal cat on it, it seems to be ok.

    Deathloc-L17 you would think putting spent exhaust back into your intake is counter productive to making power but. The exhaust going back into the cylinders helps stop detonation in the engine because it helps slow down the flame travel which allows the ECU to add some timing to engine which will help gain a few HP and some fuel efficiency best of both worlds. When your ECU sees an EGR code it retards timing and you lose some HP and it may even fatten up the air fuel ratio to further reduce chances of knock which will drop a few HP also. There is more to loose than gain from doing this but hey to each his own.

    Hey man! I have a 01, I put the plate thing on, and I put a screw piece in the green line. But that’s it. When my car is warmed up. It kinda stutters at take off, pretty sure it’s the egr stuff. I’m kinda lost and not the greatest at doing things

    I would definitely check your vacuum lines and try and look for a leak. The easiest way to do that is get a can of starter fluid and spray along your lines and places your lines go into, you’ll know when you find the leak cause the engine will go up or down a little in RPM when you spray the leaking area. Let me know if that helped any, I’d be glad to keep helping if need be.

    I believe it should, I don’t know explorers too well so I’m not 100% sure but if it’s got the 2v 4.6 then it should be good

    Yes it's the 2v 4.6. from what I understand is that there basically the same but the mustang's have a bigger elbow or throttle body

    I did notice a huge decrease in carbon build up in my intake and it’ll sadly pop an engine light unless tuned. I think I have a solution to trick the computer I just haven’t had time to make a video on it yet

    I’d recommend a tune just to play it safe, I actually hooked the two senors back up cause the engine light was annoying me and I want to test to see if it’ll make the car run any better

    You'll burn exhaust valves 😢 Egr is only on while cruising At part throttle. Doesn't or can't add horsepower 😢

    Don’t quote me but it should, I’m not sure what under the hood looks like on those trucks but I’m pretty sure it would work the same. I’m still trying to find plugs for the exposed sensor connections but so far no luck. I might put the sensors back on and cap off the vacuum lines cause it keeps throwing an engine code at me

    It does throw a code for me and I’ve been trying to figure out ways to get rid of the codes. The tuning company I go through won’t turn it off for me due to legal reasons and I haven’t had a chance to take it to a private tuner yet

    I’ve actually been trying to find simulator plugs for it but I’ve had no luck, I might run to my local junk yard and get parts and maybe make my own plugs cause the codes will pop up everytime you start the car.

    What would be wrong with just putting a blanking plate at the plenum but leave the rest of the system in place? I would imagine that would mean the system won't throw a code but no gasses causing carbon.

    Where did you get your tune file to bypass the DPFE Sensor and the EGR Control Solenoid??? I did the egr delete but no one will give me a tune with EGR delete and my car is running horribly without it

    Rightnow it throws an engine light cause I haven’t rigged it up to give fake readings. I’ll have a video out soon showing how to cheat the computer and make it think everything’s normal. I never noticed my car running horribly even with no tune

    It should just throw a check engine light and that’s all. If you have performance issues, that means you most likely have a vacuum leak from one of the lines you disconnected

    If you can find an older model, yes. But do NOT update the software or you'll lose the ability to turn it off

    The older SCT’s can do it but like he said don’t update the software or your screwed. I have an older x3 and it has the option to turn off EGR

    When you hook the device up to the computer to update its firmware or do a device update. I just got off work when I get home I’ll plug that tuner in and look at what I’m running and let you know

    It throws a code for EGR circuit being open, I think I figured out how to trick the computer I just haven’t had the chance to make a video on it yet

    Nope, the only way this would affect performance is if the vacuum line isn’t properly blocked off and you got a leak. The codes just annoying lol

    It’s not required but definitely recommended, mostly to keep the engine light off

    For the EGR delete no, as long as you keep the sensors plugged in and just cap the vacuum lines it’ll be fine

    Check the vacuum hose that go to the charcoal canister right side its the line conected behind the throttle body

    Does this trigger a check engine light I have a 96 Ford Thunderbird I put an EGR plate between the EGR and I got no check engine light in my state there's no emission check under my car but I would rather not have a check engine light illuminated

    -a 5/8 end cap from the plumbing section of your local hardware store (IF KIT DOESNT COME WITH ENDCAP) -Vacuum connectors from Autozone -Vacuum caps from Autozone -EGR Delete Kit -A tune to bypass the DPFE sensor and the EGR Control Solenoid

    It shouldn’t with a proper tune, i know in SCT tuners you can disable the EGR all together and it should bypass the sensors and the car should run fine. I’m getting a custom tune built for my car and I’ll probably run datalogs. I’ll keep it updated on the channel

    @@mikejames1860 I noticed on my old SCT tuner it gave me the option but on my new one it doesn't, im not sure if its due to more strict emission laws but im looking into it

    You can see a decrease in intake air temps, decrease in carbon build up inside your engine, slight performance gain plus it cleans up your engine bay a bit

    @@NYAcars Not convinced it is a good idea. EGR is inert gas and lowers cyl temperatures too. Can cause detonation. Also it saves gas at cruise, it in effect makes a smaller cylinder when you don't need power. Everything in life is a tradeoff I guess.VVT creates an EGR effect by changing valve timing, no valve. Ford Explorers and Rangers with the OHV 4.0, some had EGR from the factory, some didn't.

    I’ve heard both sides of the coin, some saying it raises cylinder temps and EGT’s and some says it lowers, I didn’t think to measure my EGT’s before and after delete, i might actually do that, it would be a cool video. For me this car is nothing but a fun car, I’m not too worried about gas milage, the main reason I did this delete was to help keep carbon build up low in this engine, it’s not the original engine and the true milage is unknown and I want to keep it healthy and strong for as long as possible, plus you get a very small performance boost which I can’t say no to.

    @@NYAcars Older 4.6 2vs (1991-95) had an aluminum upper intake. Eventually the EGR tube would become FULLY clogged. First under the throttle body, which you can clean, and if left alone it would fully clog the pipe. I think it was a combination of the bad valve seals and the intake design. The EGR was behind the engine. No delete was necessary :lol:. Honestly I recall except for a CEL there is almost no difference.

    Mines an 04 and still before the EGR tube clogs it can cause carbon build up in the intake plenum, intake manifold, and eventually into the engine. It’s pretty hard for those tubes to clog, usually the valve gets clogged before the tube, but it depends on the engine. And if the engines running rich yes having the EGR attached will reburn that unburnt fuel but that’s back on the issue of carbon build up. Like I said I mostly did it just to keep my engine running healthy and clean. I also figured out a way to stop the Engine Light from coming up from removing the EGR related sensors

    Sadly the only way is to turn it off yourself if you have tuning knowledge or take it to get it dyno tuned and ask the tuner to disable it

    If your really cheap and smart just pull the vac line to the egr valve and put the screw into the vac line and be done with it. As a bonus when you get sick of looking at the service engine light you can just clear the code and remove the screw and put it back on the egr diaphragm with a whole lot less bullshit.

    So basically you just showed every one how to have a service engine soon light staring at them from the dash. You do realize the DPFE sensor needs to send feed back to the PCM if if it don't it will throw a code and and will retard timing and lose HP and fuel mileage. The EGR prevents detonation and there is no power gain for doing this. Just leaving it there installed without those lines connected to the EGR tube will also throw a code. The only way to avoid having a light on is to take it to a tuner and shut down the egr system in the PCM or figure out a way to feed a false signal back to the pcm so it thinks the egr is still working.Your spending money to lose performance kind of the opposite of what you want to do.

    just leave it plugged in, block the vacuum lines, then turn off your egr. pretty simple, no codes

    @@Youretryingtoohard Well than E Farm if it makes not noticeable difference in performance why would you waste time taking it off? Again removing EGR will cause a check engine light to come on with out disabling it in the ECM for the engine. I suggest your read up about what the EGR system does for combustion chamber temps and timing.

    @@mrelectron6220 nobody is arguing that it creates a CEL. That is because the computer thinks it isn’t working. That CEL has nothing to do with timing or anything performance related. Most people remove the EGR for either enginr bay looks, or because theirs was throwing an EGR code and it’s cheaper to remove than replace. EGR is just an emissions piece, it has zero impact on the performance of the car. Maybe like a few degrees in IATs, something you will never notice EVER. Do you really think these 1,000+ hp Mustang guys are keeping their EGRs? They aren’t.

    @@Youretryingtoohard The EGR is an emissions related device, but there is some benefit to it. First the egr gas is cooler than combustion temps in the cylinder and acts to cool them a bit also since the re introduced burnt gas is not combustible it tends to lessen pre ignition both of these conditions allow the the ECU to run a couple more degrees timing making the engine a bit more efficient so a couple hp more and better gas mileage. When your ECU sees the fault for the egr it will pull back timing to protect the engine from knock so yes the cel light does have to do with performance in this case. Your point of guys running 1000 HP mustangs not using egr are correct when your running that kind of power a couple HP is not a deal breaker. Besides I doubt guys with enough smarts to build a 1000 hp engine are coming here for EGR removal tips. My point is to go though all that bull shit to get rid of the egr for a non performance gain mod and look at a cel light on all the time is shit. So when you really need to know there is an issue how you going to know with a cel light on all the time? Plus this guy is talking about saving the parts if you have to go though emissions and put them back on why bother just leave it working that's my point there's nothing to be gained for this mod.

    You only did half the job. So everyone that follows your process will have e a check engine light and be driving around with the fuel system in open loop and giving then worse gas mileage and cost the power

    Due to EPA crack down it’s harder to disable the EGR system through a tune. Been trying to figure out a way to disable it, they don’t make butt connectors for the sensors either to trick the computer. It’s out of my hands

    I have made it known in numerous videos and in numerous comments. The complete kit is for the 94-98 and older, the one that has the red piece on the end. That’s the style with the round connector. Any kit for 99-04 GT’s comes with just the block off plate and two screws, lethal performances kit comes with a manifold cap aswell, but other than that no kit has a sensor plug or a way to trick the computer. Older SCT devices have the option and the only other way is to have a dyno tune or stand alone ECU. I’ll make a whole video explaining it if need be

    Ok let me help you put first problem with your statement I have 2- 99s they do sell a complete kit. 2nd problem. You don't need a tuner to do it. It knowledge of the wire ING for the sensors what they do and how to connect t the wires so the ecu thinks 1 nothings wrong and 2 that everything is still there
