I was first exposed to pornography at 8 years old by a friend from school. By 12 I was fully enthralled by it, and it was a ritual for 10 years until I was saved at 22. 3 years later and I continue to fall into sin, but I know that God is working in my heart, and that he will continue to work in my heart so that I am ready to be a godly husband to a godly woman. All glory to God 🙏

I struggled with porn for 14 years, half my life. The things I've seen in the realm of porn disgust me now. I'm deeply ashamed of it and wish I had never discovered it. I read the bible in 2019, and yet still struggled with the temptation of looking at it. It's just been horrific. Lots of regrets now that keep me up at night, that's why I turned to Jesus because there's nothing I could ever do in a billion years that can make up for it. Jesus is the only one who can save me, save you.

1. Make a list of things you are grateful for. A porn addiction comes from a lack of thanksgiving to God for what you have been given. 2. Don’t focus on NOT doing something. Instead, make an effort to fill your time with God, reading the Bible, evangelizing to your friends and family, by doing Gods work you will naturally start to serve the correct master again. 3. Repent, repent, repent! Do not fall into the trap of self pity, “I’m so stupid, God, I should be ashamed.” No, confess your sin, ask for forgiveness, and move on, because it has been paid for by the blood of Christ, and no amount of guilt, self-pity, or anger at yourself can change your sin. God loves you and died to forgive you of your sins, accept his work that gave us freedom. God bless you brother, I hope this helps.

Wow.... at 10:15 that's literally what happened in my life... in 2017 I got saved but a few months later I turned away bc of guilt due to sexual failure. Instead of turning to God, I became extremely ambitious, chasing after money and before I knew it I was so overwhelmed by all the things I got myself into. I was pursuing a degree in Biomedical Sciences to go to medical school and become a plastic surgeon but I was blinded by my own pride and couldn't see how badly this was affecting my mental health. I restored my relationship with Christ in June of this year 2022 and he has completely changed my life. I realized all my "goals" were not really my goals, they were an excuse to say "I did it". A way to live comfortably in sin and pride. Now GOD has shown me a different path, he helped me find peace and let me enter his rest when I surrendered. My life has completely changed because I use to say, "I'd rather die than not become a plastic surgeon." It took months before I realized how prideful I was being, still after restoring my relationship with Christ. GOD has been delivering me every day from things I had no idea I was bounded by. Well like I said, GOD has shown me a new way, He enlightened me by letting me see my pride and let go of those dreams I had in vain. After reading GODS WORD, and receiving the revelation through the Holy Spirit I decided this is what I wanted to do. As a pre-med student research was my main focus in almost all my classes so I applied those concepts to my Bible studies and realized this is something I want to do. I want to study theology, and I want to gain knowledge and wisdom in GOD. He is truly moving for me and I am so happy to be relieved from the stress of pursuing such a dense and burdensome career. Now I can do something I am genuinely interested in that will genuinely help people. I am so glad I was able to talk to my grandma about this. I was bawling my eyes out as I told her how tired I am of school and how I want it to be over already. She said so many amazing things but what really stood out to me was when she said, "you can be a plastic surgeon for people's souls." I was like wow, that's what I really wanna do, I want to use my faith to increase other people's faith. Just as John Piper said in his sermon about spiritual gifts. I genuinely enjoy and desire to deeply study the Bible, so now I am pursuing a bachelor's in ministry with a concentration on Biblical studies and a master's in divinity. GOD IS SO GOOD!!! I love how I just randomly ran into John Piper's videos on youtube and he has influenced me so much with his intelligence in theology, so now I want to study it as well so I can be able to explain God's word with such ease and simplicity the same way he does it in such a marvelous way.!! Thank you LORD and thank you, John Piper!!!

Praise God for making u a witness.. I am a doctor waiting to do my specialization for I believe that's my calling.. But sexual sin and the guilt from it have stolen years from my life.. Now along with work and studies, I hv been working mainly on relationship with Jesus more than any other thing.. I started meditating the Bible along with my long distance friends and accidentally made a channel in spotify just as a means to send our Bible meditation to each other.. I'm weak and fail sometimes but when I invest my time in him I'm better if not then the old sin starts to creep back.. One day at a time as a recovering addict.. May God help us and not only us but many like us who are struggling..

I was in the crowd that day. This was Passion 2007 in Atlanta.

I heard this sermon once and oh how compelling it was. I wanted to listen to it again and keep it as one of the most important and helpful sermons but I forgot the title. I was looking of it for a long time and by God's providence at the right time I found it again just now. My boys are young at the moment but this message about gutsy guilt will be helpful in their adolescent to young adult years perhaps any stage of their lives with God as it is to me. Oh I'm so glad God caused me to find it. I commend it to everyone, and anyone who has a heart for the youth especially. Thank you God for this and thank you for your vessel. Glory to God forever!

Thank God for this sermon and thank God for faithful men of scripture.

I don’t say this to be rude, but our Bible teaches us that if we hate someone, then we are not truly saved. “He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. @@haniel_cm Lost people can feel guilty because God has given us a conscience (John 8:9, Romans 2:15). The scripture is clear. “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” (1 John 4:8) I haven’t once twisted the word of God but simply presented it and let the text speak.

If she sinned (any type of sin) and repent, God is gonna forgive her. If she practied hatred in her heart, it doesn't mean that she is lost.

@@Christopher-ms5ke I agree but we all struggle. To struggle doesn’t mean I’m not saved. We are still in this flesh. And I’ve seen tremendous growth in myself that I can not credit to myself. I recognize that these feelings are wrong and repent and ask God for help. And even now He’s shown me the error of my ways and is healing that part within me. But to say I’m not saved is grieving to me especially since you don’t know that much about me. That’s one thing the devil plays at with me is to bring doubt and fear that I’m not saved and tempt me to give up and take me life. But I won’t. God has been too good to me as He has us all.

After years of victory of sexual sin, I fell back into it. Eventhough, I repented and turn from it permanently, I still feel guilt and shame. And think that God will not forgive me cause I knew better!

Satan's game is based on guilt. But God bases salvation on grace!! I am guilty..I am a sinner and will be til the day I die. Probably until my last breath!! The flesh is weak but the spirit is strong!! I fail God everyday but glory to God he does not fail me!!! I have a problem dealing with guilt. I feel I have failed God, offended Him, shamed the name of Jesus Christ all of which I have!! That's where my guilt is justified!!! But glory be to God His grace blots out my sins. Sin without guilt means one thing. If you sin and feel no shame or guilt it means you don't have Jesus Christ as your Savior!!! I feel terrible when I sin.. That feeling comes from the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer..He convicts us of our sins and we then seek the forgiveness of God. Praise God for His perfect plan of salvation which is His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ who's blood washes away our sins!!! I needed to hear this message from this man today. Thank God I found it because I was in a bad place and this helped me immensely!!! Thank you.n

The only thing I would say and I think he would agree…. Satan can only kill your under The Authority of The Lord. If he could kill anyone he wanted we would all be dead. Just as in Job he’s limited and on a very short leash with God’s children!

I heard the opposite. God is love. Never heard about the wrath of God until the pandemic. Lord I never want to experience that.

What do you do at 9am about 2am?

23:15 - "He can make you see weird things on the walls of your room". Does anybody have any fuller context to what Piper is referring to here? I understood him to be saying the Devil can fabricate horrifying terrors to try and scare you? I don't disagree I just was a bit taken aback, but it is true that if the Devil can appear as an angel of light, so could he or his demons appear as things of darkness.

@@HearGodsWord Sorry in the clip I referenced, Piper is referring to what Satan had been permitted to do to afflict us, the "make you see strange things on your walls" was in reference to Satan. The account of the hand that appears and writes on the wall at Balshazzars feast in Daniel 5 was "sent forth by God", according to Daniel, and not a work of the Devil. It was a good suggestion to look there, but alas not comparable as it was not the devil behind that "strange thing with the wall" event.

Then if not, why, how can you call it serving, that you or a servant, to assume ones, other than your self is serving. Anyway, the same God in you, the spirit is in all. As to the enterprising about my life, I serve no pagon, nor idol God. Humans thats without the opulence of the absolute knowledge, serve only the demigods. The demigods are the suppliers to the earthly people. They are also controlled by wicked angels, female goddesses. Also called stars. God plays a roll in everything that goes on, but remains neutral, and does not interfere. Its the same as earthly flesh human souls that has been granted a free will. And just like humans thats stationed on earth. For there evil wicked deeds, they to shell be judged. Its written, wicked men and angels are to be Judged.

I feel like it is the work of Satan to cripple us with guilt over our sin. He loves to remind us of it. The cross has the final word. It is a symbol of salvation for the repentant heart and a sumbol of judgment for the prideful hardened heart.
