How we know he's a pro, and not just a KZread Pro - the fabricators eye is a REAL THING! How does one develop a fabricators eye? Buy a grinder, buy a cheap welder, start making stuff. I developed my fabricator's eye in the Marine industry - where nothing is square, everything follows a natural curve and good luck starting with a level surface! It takes practice, it takes time but before you know it when it looks right - you know it's right :)

If you get a piece rattling around inside your roll cage, drill two hole in the pipe, spray great stuff inside it at 1/3 and 2/3rds the length. Tac weld the holes. Now the piece is in one of the 3 chambers. Go drive and turn a lot while the stuff is still sticky. If that doesn't catch it. Go to the 1/3 that you hear the rattle, and divide that up into 1/3rds. Drill 2 holes spray more "great stuff in it. Drive and turn a lot while it's sticky. You might be able to drill one hole and fill the hole bar with the great stuff as it expands big time. Your way of removing it before you build is best of course.

I literally traded for a 4'x4' sheet of 3/16" aluminum. Then measured my radius, cut lines with a carbide blade on a scroll saw half way into the aluminum going longways. I think I did about 15 of them or so? Then began to bend each 1" section until I had my radius. Set the aluminum on the roof of my buggy and marked out the tubes, then cut the aluminum to fit and drilled the holes for my bolts👍 I used trick tabs for the roof panel😉 Hope that answers your question and thanks for watching!

My seats have very large drain holes in them and any slag was actually falling down through those holes. I also used fiberglass blankets for the big stuff, those left my seats nice and itchy until I got them to the car wash 😁

@@jeremyschunke5070 well I've never owned the Eastwood bender but the affordable bender jack doesn't max out. You can bend from 0-90° without making any changes to the jack screw.

I've also made a handful of 90° bends with the affordable bender and it never kinked or flattened the tube. I almost always use .120 wall but have used .090 wall as well.

@@Bleepincolt Actually I did a little research on that and it turns out that DOM is welded but they run a mandrel thru it which makes it very round and holds it's dimensions and smooths out the weld to where it is almost invisible and smooth. Seamless is acctually extruded and has no weld.

Well I also wanted a better geometric cage for safety too. With no A-pillar support, a bent B and C pillar the cage was asking to crush on a hard rollover. I discussed that some in the Slamurai walk-around video.👍 I did need to raise it for my personal safety as well...because lurch life, lol.

DOM tubing, dry cut carbide saw, highend tube notcher, proper tubing bender... wheres the CHEAP part as shown in the title.. this isnt the cheap way this is the professional way, i dont see how you could spend anymore money other than going with a bender thats mounted to the floor and fully hydraulic

DOM tubing- because safety first for me, you can use whatever your little heart desires(talked about it)👍. Doesn't matter what saw you use to cut tubing, use a sawzall if you want🤷‍♂️, Low end tube notcher(price them out) if you want to notch tubing in a high volume and at multiple angles the only one cheaper is the HF one and I used what I think is the Cheapest "ACTUAL" tubing bender that is on the market.

@@Bleepincolt i understand that and soon as i get a shop built ill be ordering a jd2 bender and a notcher, already got a cold cut, nothing wrong with the gear my point is doing it the cheap way shouldnt be in the title, it implies you have some tricks on how to cut it perfectly and notch it nicely with an angle grinder then any sort of home made contraption for bending it, this isnt the cheap way its just the regular way

@@Bleepincolt and i really dont see pipe being an issue, DOM is much nicer especially when you have all the gear designed to work with its dimensions nicely but pipe would be plenty strong, its not a safety issue in my eyes, they put high pressure steam inside the stuff and the welds dont bust, although as mentioned quality assurance can be an issue on any product
