Fascinating! I didn't realise they were now solid and like you many years ago (over 40) as an inquisitive child I carved into one of my Dad's golf balls and it was like wound elastic. I kept cutting and cutting until *BANG* it exploded. All this brown goo hot me in the face and over the walls of our dining room.

I remember cutting open golf balls and watching the rubber string unwind and make the ball jump around like crazy. Sometimes you would have a core that was filled with some unknown liquid which of course you chased your friends around with as you squirt who knows what at them. Good times🤣

Think I should name myself, "Late to the Party, as usual!" Back in the '60's my late Grandfather (RIP) was an avid golfer. Every Sunday morn, rain or shine, just before Church. He was known to even go out in the cold winter of Michigan, if the snow wasn't up to his hips. Anyhow, I digress, he had what he called "River Balls" that he let my older brother & I "uncover" then...UNWIND! We had a blast!! Watching that odd inside jump & bounce as it unwound. Taking bets upon what color the bouncy ball underneath all the elastic would be! Now days, I see it's VERY different! What kind of medium do they use instead of the elastic & bouncy ball? Just curious. Love ALL your videos, takes the boredom out of my days. I'm sure your wife will be glad to get her precious egg basket back! (Beautiful, also!) Cheers! Late to the Party!

Another thought Doug! Many of the thrift stores have buckets of these for next to nothing; as long as they don't see this video. They would be a safer place to get the used golf balls. Just a thought; as you know some thoughts are better than others. Well worth a hundred thumbs up!

Brought back memories from when I was a kid. Unrolling all that rubber band, it was fun. Then there were balls with cork around a little ball filled with a liquid, those weren’t fun. Good memories. Also there was a ball called a Super Ball, it bounce so high you couldn’t see it & you were lucky if you could find it as it bounced back down. Love it. Thanks for Sharing. 👍👍👍😊

I find tons of them for sale at yard sales. Usually don't pay more than 10 cents a piece. As for a golf course, look for the ponds and bring a garden rake. Might want to carry a golf bag with a few clubs in it so people will think you're actually playing and maybe your club went in and you're trying to retrieve it. Also, if there's a wooded area along the course, definitely take a walk through the woods. Most golfers won't even bother walking into the woods to find a golf ball.

Your right, I would’ve never thought you could carve a golf ball. The last time I cut into one (about 50 yrs. ago) it was full of rubber bands and when I sliced them the damn golf ball exploded spewing rubber bands out of the ball. It was fun tho, did about 10 of them that way until I got my fill.
