The gnome gents sounded really happy about the arrival of the women gnomes! They look great!
Nice that you found a female gnome village. Will make the male gnomes happier. Didn't know if they lived a Shaker type of life style.
From the mind and through the hands of Doug another excellent video! What’s next? Gnome children to round out the community? 😉😉
I like how the gnomes are having a party at the end of the video!
Lol. When I made the comment of needing female gnomes I didn't think there would be any. Glad to see female addition. Geat job Doug.
Thanks for the tips on carving female gnomes. There is not a lot of videos out there on carving females.
Hi Doug. Writing from the most easterly part of Canada. Newfoundland. Been following you for over 4 years now and have learned so much. Started carving in hospital while being treated for cancer. One of the perks of being a professional fire. Started carving using using a folding utility knife from Canadian Tire. Have bought more of the type you use and find them excellent. Learned your stropping methods and an still waiting for the right side of my left index finger to regain feeling. Lol. My cancer has returned again so I’m heading back for more treatment. As I found the last time I was in hospital carving got me by and it also entertained the nurses. Can you do a tutorial using the female goame
Another great video buddy! Round round get around! She turned out great!!
Love the lady gnomes ❗️ The men could use some company and it was fun and relaxing to watch, thanx Doug❣️
Just finished your guy gnome, got busy and worked on it in my truck waiting for my grandson took three days? Might have more time this week so I’ll be doing this carving.
I love the way you share the little details, " slight angle" etc...
Doug, I’m so glad the boys now have a few ladies in their life, and maybe we will be able to add a few ladies to our own array of all male carvings!
Hi Doug , I've watched other carvers and truely , I find you the best in explaining what your doing . Your an awesome Carver and a great mentor !!! Thank you for teaching the carving craft !! Pete in Halifax ,NS
Awesome video brother, thanks for sharing with us all. Take care & stay safe my friend

very kool , I think U'll stick to watchon' you carve.....Great work , Gnomes are neat RJ
Doug, I don't know if you read new comments on your older videos or not however... This video has me grinning ear to ear this morning. So fun. My wife's hair stylist, and my barber, asked me to do a gnome carving as a gift for her mother. I carved your 6 inch gnome fellow yesterday, and then found the female gnome. BRILLIANT. I will give her both. 😊 Doug, I am 70 and started carving by following you in 2019. I love your stuff. Thank you for introducing me to a wonderful hobby in my retirement year. I have been a carpenter, woodworker and even boatbuilder most of my life but never thought I would be-able to create such fun and creative work to give to my family and friends. I refuse payment for carvings (although often been offered money and suggested I sell them for profit ) I prefer and love gifting the carvings I think worthy. Thanks Doug. You always bring a big smile.
Doug. Another great teaching experience.first female gnome I’ve seen, other than the book . I see there’s enough characters for you and Sophie to play tic tac toe . Keep up the good work 👍👍😉👌👌
Some funny comments here. Great video, very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

Knot babies soon arriving, and a happy gnome lawyer thinking his retirement is settled and is looking for a nice tree in the southern forest. Hope the new couples never build a home in an apple tree. Happy to see the men enthusiastic, just wondering how long till hunting and fishing becomes a popular pass time for them. Well done Doug, Well done. ;)
Love your tutorials Doug! Thank you

Love watching / listening you create! I'll get a knife one day. Thanks!
Doug as I have said numerous times you include us in your video as you tutor us you don’t talk down to us and you add some humour. Another great video keep up the good work.
Great tutorial Doug thanks
Nice tutorial thanks for sharing the video always a pleasure watching you carve.
Endless possibilities with these. Really like these beginner tutorials. Woman are generally more difficult to carve, well at least one that looks like a woman. Many look like a man with long hair. Thin face, thinner nose and your on your way. Great video, lighting and to the point☕
Great job. I tried one and it came out pretty good for a first try. Will give this a shot. Thanks for all of the videos, they are great!
Another great job Doug! Thanks!
Perfect! You make it look easy and it gives hope that I can actually do this.
Haha great video Doug!
Thank you! That’s great!
Awesome Doug" Now all them lil' dudes won't be lonely . : )
Doug another absolute masterpiece!👍👍👍 You just keep going from strength to strength. Took my first bass of the year this week fly fishing. Summer's here! Pete
Doug, thanks for bringing in the women folk. They turned out really nice. They all have so much personality in their faces. I propose a bit of a carving challenge to you that you may or may not like. How about a little girl with braids? I've really enjoyed your carving and other projects. Best regards from the Sonoran Desert!
Awesome stuff Doug!
Finally somebody to wash, cook and clean for the man gnomes hehhe
Great video as always Doug.

I can tell by the sound of the knife cuts that they are so do different to what I hear on my bench. Wish we could get the same wood here in the UK. Want me to send you some 'Lime wood' that we use?
Hi Doug another great video tutorial, i love these gnomes that you're doing. Do you think you may include a knight and maybe dragon tutorial in the future as i would love to create a fantasy scene, with castle etc. Keep up the amazing work Sir.
Way to go. No more stud fest at the gnome village. Great video
GJ, nice and clear.
Ваши работы замечательны!
Thanks Doug !!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you
Love your videos Doug, you tell and show your cuts. Noticed you have moved a little to the flat plane style and love it, sort of like the John Overby style. Keep them coming!!
love it
Thanks for another fantastic video. I've learned so much and I love your method and the steps you take, explaining it all. On this one, the mouth was my undoing. I had the entire thing done, and I was really liking how it turned out. And then the mouth.... ugh. I know you say that you're using regular basswood, but your stuff looks like ivory soap compared to what I have. I know it's 90% your skill but I'm always amazed how clean your carvings look. I think the blocks I have (bought off ebay) work well overall, but when I got to the mouth it was very crumbly and chippy. And my knives are honed, stropped, and scalpel sharp. It was very frustrating to have it 95% done and not stick the landing. Will try again!
Sei veramente un artista Ugo
That gnome home in the back ground was incredible.I bet that didn't happen right away. What away to display you carvings. Enjoy watching you make your carvings.I have a 4 piece starter set coming for christmas. Its going to be along wait. Jim's woodshop.
Thanks!
Good stuff
Very cute beginning :)
Awesome
Thanks for doing this Doug. My daughter loves gnomes but is often disappointed that we can rarely find female gnomes.
My wife says the ladies need some Bling on their hats! LOL. Love the carvings.
